2 weeks in the sun
Loved the outside area, pool is lovely and welcome with the heat in our 2nd week (~38C). Eating outside, under the cover of the wisteria plant was also a pleasure to avoid the sun.
House is nice, particularly eating and living areas although the kitchen could be equipped better (utensils, mugs etc), but we managed ok. The house is old, but is in keeping with the other buildings in the area. However there are elements of the house that would benefit from being updated, e.g shelving in bathrooms, which are a little unattractive. Overall we really enjoyed our stay there, making the most of the pool and appreciating the peaceful surroundings.
There was no TV, which we somehow overlooked in the description, but the children (15, 13 & 11) were more disappointed in the speed of the internet. This is a rural location so no fibre connectivity for internet available - mostly ok for email/text messages, but not so good for children wanting to play internet-connected games. We found 4G mobile connectivity to be faster and used that some of the time.
The area was nice, with lovely beaches around 30 minutes away, a pleasant local town (Gemozac) with a lovely restaurant (La Florentine) and other areas of interest locally and further afield.
The host was good - responded quickly to a couple of small issues we had.
I've given 3 stars overall as 4 feels a little high, however, I would probably rate the overall experience as 3.5 stars if I were able to.
