Let all your worries drift away as you relax at this 3-bed, 3-bath luxury Lake Wylie vacation home. This home sits in the midst of a 1000+ acre McDowell Nature Preserve, where you will see plenty of deer, turkeys and other wildlife playing in the woods. You will truly feel like you have escaped civilization. on a more than one acre point, a beach and dock on Lake Wylie with incredible main channel views and sunsets.. This 1965 home was completely renovated at the beginning of 2020, we then renovated the bathrooms at the beginning of 2022 to add walk in tiled showers and glass enclosures. We bought it with a vision for a family getaway for our four generations of family, after the extensive renovations it is now a luxury lake retreat for those who stay there. With gorgeous views from almost every room, you'll be living in luxury during your stay at this spacious lakefront home. Top floor has two bedrooms (a large master suite and a second bedroom) with two baths and a number of living areas. The lower level has a separate entrance to a spacious second master suite with one bedroom, one bath, kitchen, living and eating area. Spend your days kayaking, paddle boarding, hiking, boating around Lake Wylie that boarders North and South Carolina, or fishing up some dinner! After a day of adventure come back to unwind on one of the patios as you cozy up to the fire pit and watch the sunset with a favorite beverage in hand.

If you want to rent a pontoon boat while staying at the house, we can send you a flyer from a local company on Lake Wylie that will provide, deliver and pickup the boat you rent during your stay. We have a guest dock where you can tie up your rental boat.

Destinations of interest while vacationing at the Luray lake House:

1. For some city-based fun, Charlotte city center is a twenty five minute drive.

2. There is a new outlet mall, Charlotte Premium Outlets, just eight minutes away.

3. Charlotte International airport (CLT) is twenty minutes away.

4. The National Whitewater Center (Olympic training grounds for the US kayak team) for live music, hiking, mountain bike riding or just grabbing lunch and a drink is 25 minutes away.

5. Carowinds theme park and water park is only twenty minutes away.

Waterfront, protected cove, main channel views, incredible sunsets, and lots of seating inside or outside. We include free use of three Kayaks and two paddle boards during your stay, with paddles and life vests for all ages.  We just added a new wide staircase to get to the beach safely.

Refunds

Refunds can take up to ten days depending on the processor and credit card used. When a booking is canceled, and a refund is due based on the cancelation rules.

Guest Access:
We provide Touchless check-in and a digital guide with all the necessary information like door code, WIFI code, trash cage combination and more. The top floor is a two bedroom two bath home with two sun rooms and a living room with fireplace. While the bottom floor has a separate access and is a second master with kitchen, bathroom, living and eating area. Wake up to the views of the lake as sounds of birds breaking the silence. Incredibly peaceful place to simply relax and enjoy.

Our goal is to make this a stress-free experience which will cause you to want to rent one of our places in the future.

The Neighborhood:
This property is on more than an acre of wooded land and point extended into the lake, set between the lake and the protected forest preserve. This will make you feel like you are miles away for civilization. Restaurants and Grocery are only eight miles away. Sunsets are amazing while you sip a glass of wine or southern sweet tea at the end of the day!

Getting Around:
You will need your own vehicle and parking for three cars is available.

Other Things to Note:
Due to the remote nature of this resort home WiFi can be slow at times, however, cell service is excellent and can be used to tether your electronics. We have smart TVs throughout the property. Starter logs and two packs of firewood are provided for your use and pleasure starting in November and through February. Relax and enjoy!

IMPORTANT NOTICE - As of October 27, 2025 AirBnB has decided to add a 15.5% fee onto all bookings. Therefore you will see this on your reservation if you book through them. Other OTA, or Online Travel Agencies, have not increased their fees and you can also book directly if you desire.

Our property managers communicate by phone, text and email depending on the situation. We have regular messages that are sent to you to make sure you have all of the information you need and that your stay is as expected.
