From the refreshing quietness of beautiful views of the valley to the rugged adventures waiting to be discovered by any outdoor enthusiast Sage Mountain Retreat and Rentals will provide a cozy and clean cabin to relax and recharge in. We are located in hunting GMU 55 and across the street from 551.
The Property
Ursa Major is a log cabin about 600 sqft in size. It has a carpeted loft with railings and a gate that latches. There is a very sturdy ladder to access the loft. If you have small children that you don’t want climbing the ladder, there is not currently a deterrent to keep them from climbing. Children love to play in the loft. Please watch your children and be sure to close the gate at the top for their safety. It is safest to ascend and descend the ladder while facing it.
There is a ditch that gets “turned on” for about 8 weeks of the summer. It is about 30 yards from the cabin. Please keep an eye on your children as it can be several feet deep in some places.
Guest Access
Guests can park beside the cabin on the east side, on the West side of the cabin between the aspen tree and the hydrant, or if pulling a trailer you can park in the grass by the split rail fence on the south side of the cabin. Please do not park directly in front of the cabin except for loading and unloading.
Guests are welcome to walk around and enjoy the lower portion of the property. The hillsides are currently off limits. If you wish to hike up the hill, please reach out to Art for some instructions. Guests are not allowed to walk through the property to get to public land and are not allowed to hunt or shoot on the property.
Interaction with guests
Guests may text or call Arthur with any questions. Cell service is not great throughout the valley so it may take a while for me to respond. Please do feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns though. We do enjoy meeting our guests but it is not a requirement.
