Charming house located in the heart of downtown Chatham!
This charming house, with a shared driveway, is located in the heart of downtown Chatham. Leave your cars parked and a short walk brings you to The Chatham Library, The Candy Manor or Oyster Pond Beach. Stroll downtown to get your morning coffee and paper, or for dinner and a movie in the evening. This 3 bedroom, 2 bath main house offers 3 twins, 1 king, 1 queen and a double bed. Slimline a/c units are in the bedrooms and a window unit cools you down in the downstairs living area. A private back deck to relax and rejuvenate on, or to grill up some dinner while the stars begin to peak out. Spacious updated kitchen, laundry, dining area and family room are on the 1st floor. Take a walk up the original Captain's Stairs to the 2nd floor and you'll find a private bedroom, an Apple TV lounging room and 2 more bedrooms that are adjoining. Please note if you are not familiar Apple TV, speak with an agent prior to booking. Great location and home for a great Cape Cod getaway. This is the perfect house- charming, clean, bright, updated and in a great location. With no A/C.
This house is the kind of property you rent once then try to get again every year. If only it had A/C. They advertise that it does but there are two freestanding units upstairs that do not adequately cool the rooms they are in, let alone the other two rooms that are up there. The exhaust tubes are duct-taped but the tape isnt sticking so we spent a lot of time trying to get that figured out and the water drained- not how I want to spend my vacation. When we went to bed at night, it was 80 to 86 degrees. When we woke up, the A/C had finally been able to catch up a bit but it was still 74 to 76. The downstairs has no cooling mechanism at all so we spent the week in a sauna. (For the record, we keep our A/C at home at 73.). Every other thing about this property was wonderful- hope they get this worked out.
