resort like home with firepit and hot tub in trendy north shore
Resort like home in heart of North Chattanooga! Perfect for family gatherings. Enjoy a resort style stay in this charming, yet spacious 2,000 square foot two story historic home in the heart of the trendy and walkable North Chattanooga neighborhood. With all the amenities of the house you may not want to leave, but if you do Frazier Ave coffee shops/restaurants and the Walnut Street walking bridge are 8 city blocks away. Built in 1920, Colville Cottage maintains its original charm but has recently undergone a major renovation to include a large updated kitchen. A recently constructed huge deck with large gas firepit is perched high above the street and affords pleasant views of the surrounding hilly and unique neighborhood. Sleeps 9. After you walk back from dinner on Frazier Avenue, you and your family can kick back in an Adirondack chair and sip wine, warming yourself by the gas firepit. If you all prefer the warm glow and the crackle of a wood fire, there is a second firepit on the brick patio below. Retire to the jacuzzi to relax those joints after a long day of sightseeing. Finish the evening with your family, gathered around the living room gas fireplace, and watch a movie on a 55 inch 4K large screen TV. Sleep comfortably in one of four bedrooms, all with queen beds. two bedrooms have TVs as well.. Wake up late the next morning to enjoy coffee in the well lit, cozy sunroom. You'll have whole property to yourself with full access to house, including laundry located in the basement. Although we want folks to enjoy the property, we are not set up for parties or social gatherings involving outside guests not staying overnight. The neighborhood is quiet, houses are close together and there is a noise curfew on back deck of 10 pm weekdays and 11 pm weekend nights that is strictly enforced out of respect for neighbors. call or text easiest way to reach me Charming and quiet North Chattanooga is an historic neighborhood dotted with 1920s bungalows, front porches, and mature oak trees, but it is walking distance to the vibrant North Shore district coffee shops, restaurants, and retail shops. Aretha Frankensteins is 2 blocks away for great breakfast. Walk 7 blocks to drink some coffee at Stone Cup Coffee or enjoy a German beer and pretzel at Brewhaus. Walk a little over a mile, across the historic Walnut Street walking bridge, straddling the Tennessee River, to the Bluff View Art district, with the renowned Hunter Museum, cozy Rembrant Coffee House, or the Whiskey Thief bar atop the newly completed Edwin Hotel. Or take the kids to the Tennessee State Aquarium just over a mile from Colville Cottage. can walk to north shore restaurant and shopping district -.7 miles. but driving is easier. $5 Uber ride to aquarium. two story house with stairs.

Wonderful stay and great location for Moon River Festival
Beds were wonderful. Kitchen was amazing. Outdoor space was very nice. We had a wonderful time in Chattanooga - and having this as our base to go to the Moon River Festival in Coolidge Park was perfect!
The house accommodated our group of 6 well. Everything was listed like it said it would and we didn't have any issues with anything working improperly. The location of this house was excellent.
Nice old house with some modern touches. Downstairs bathroom has a very nice shower. Kitchen is modern & cool. Hot tub and fire pit really great places to hang out
For two nights along our road trip, we stopped to see Chattanooga and this historic home was perfect. Exactly as pictured and with incredible charm. Comfortable beds, clean and wonderful kitchen with everything you could need in it. We visited Ruby Falls and the Aquarium - easy access. Owner is available if needed.
Denny’s house suited us perfectly for our needs. We were 3 couples who took part of the annual Chattack padding race on the Tennessee River. Our focus was comfort, working kitchen and comfortable sitting areas for the group. We loved the hot tub which was used repeatedly. Your house was quite charming! Totally enjoyed our stay.
My family and I enjoyed our stay at this home. The beds were comfortable in all four bedrooms and the two upstairs bedrooms were spacious. The bathrooms were a little tight for space. We really enjoyed the unique character of the home, the outdoor patio fire pit and hot tub. The location was great & close to downtown Chattanooga.
Great place for a family weekend trip. We enjoyed our stay. The house is an old house, but they have done a great job of updating it. It was clean and comfortable. The back deck had a lot of tree debris and the hot tub was a little green so we didn’t get in it, but we enjoyed the house and fire pit. Also, it is too far up a steep mountain/hill to walk to town and the park, but it’s within 5 miles from everything you need or want.
We loved the Colville Cottage! The vintage vibe was great, but also had modern amenities: updated modern kitchen and big dining table (we did a lot of cooking), two HVAC units so folks on different floors could be comfortable. And two bedrooms on the main level for our folks who don’t do stairs. All the beds were really comfortable. We loved hanging out around the gas firepit, too. Host was responsive to pre-stay questions and requests, and we had no issues while we were there. It’s was a great value and we’d stay here again.
It was not great that the thermostat had been turned completely off when we checked in after dark. The house was so cold! Luckily our plan was to leave immediately for dinner, so we found the house closer to being tolerable when we returned several hours later. Otherwise, a home run! great neighborhood, charming house, nice amenities.
Loved the historical house, beautifully remodelled and open and light. We had some plumbing problems which the owner tried to fix, but really needed a plumber's expertise so that was never fully resolved. The hot tub was great- but the cover is literally falling to pieces- so that needs replacing. But for your value it was lovely and comfortable- i recommend it.
This home features two bright and airy living room areas. We loved having two conversation areas since kids could be playing a game in one while adults visited in the other. They can be open or closed. The kitchen opens to a big dining area and is well equipped for big family meals. We needed a few more chairs so we used our foldable ones to seat everyone in our big group Big laundry machines are in the very old basement. It was easy to walk to a terrific ice cream shop and the splash pad. Everyone enjoyed the hot tub and fire pit. We had 9 people in our group and would gladly stay at this historical home again. The owner quickly responded as needed.
We had family in and exploring Chattanooga (some for the first time). This was a GREAT place - we only wish we had more time to spend at the house. Charming place and a great neighborhood. It was perfect for what we needed and we will be back to stay. This will be our first choice!
It was super hot out - in the mid-90's and the A/C worked great - sometimes a toss up in an older home. The home was comfortable for the 6 of us. Kitchen had a nice assortment of items to use. I would point out it is a traditional coffee maker - its nice to know ahead so you can bring coffee with you.
We enjoyed the deck outside for early morning coffee - didn't have time to use the hot tub - maybe next trip.
There are few joys in this world that I treasure more than the experience of an outdoor Hot Tub in the snow. For that, we couldn't have picked a better weekend. One afternoon, it was so invitingly-relaxing, I was almost late for the show, the entire reason that we were in town, The Floating Men (only their 2nd show after almost 15 years without a performance). I was also impressed by the scenery, many native plants surrounding the property as well as hardscape additions, all of which provided a magnificent backdrop for myriad birds moving through the neighborhood. It's amazing how a metro area as big as Chattaboogie can still feel like the middle of nowhere. As it was near freezing for much of the weekend, I did spend a little time inside, too. A local came to visit, remembering the house pre-remodel, as she was as impressed as we were, with all of the updates. The additions were well done, in a way that conveyed both an appreciation of the history of the structure as well as the need for safety improvements. Due to weather, and such, half of my crew didn't make the trip, but the spacious home was enjoyed none-the-less. The only difficultly was deciding which bedrooms to choose, since we few had a huge space all to ourselves. The heroism came afterwards. When we departed, we accidentally forgot a bag at the house, a pretty significant one, with all of our medications. The owner was kind enough to immediately retrieve and coordinated to help get it returned, quickly.
We came for a quick family vacation. This house was fantastic. We had plenty of room for 6 adults and 2 children. The check in and out was so easy. Very clear instructions to the house. Our favorite place was the fire pit and the kitchen. The location was great. It was close to everything we wanted to do. We will definitely visit again. Thanks for the well needed family vacation!
