So hi, after trying every way possible to a refund for this property I have decided to leave a review. I usually leave very detailed reviews that help others get a good feel for their stay. This time I cannot. I booked a room for my husband, two small children, and myself. My youngest has severe breathing issues, is immunocompromised, and cannot stay in spaces that are very dusty, smoky, etc. I requested (read: beggedh for a room away from any smoking anything bc of this. Sweet. Excited to go to the aquarium and make family memories I pull up to a hotel that is under construction and renovations. This was not disclosed anywhere in the booking and I was heated. At no point did I go in or sign in. I cannot handle confrontation due to severe anxiety so I called Expedia. I asked for a refund because this is not safe for my one year old. I cannot afford to take PTO from work because he’s sick as all get out or pay a crap ton in hospital bills bc he’s in the hospital from this. They tell me they are going to work on it given the circumstances. Well- almost two weeks later they tell me this property will not refund. Okay, I asked again only to be told no again but they were going to give a credit somehow. It’s not the same bc I’m out the money for the room we cannot and did not stay in. I filed a PayPal claim and have appealed the denial. The property told them we did stay- we did not. It is absurd they will not put a child’s health and wellbeing over refunding a single night. Avoid
