We had a great stay overall. The location was awesome and the house was a really cool setup for our group — plenty of space and a great vibe.The only downside was that an agent came to show the house while we were staying there. We didn’t get any heads-up beforehand, which made it pretty awkward. It felt uncomfortable having people walking through while we were just sitting there, and we didn’t really feel like we could say no in the moment.I don’t think this was the host’s fault, but it’s something future guests should be aware of. Aside from that, everything else was solid and we enjoyed the stay.

The cabin overall has not been maintained well. The hot tub was not usable because it did not get to a warm enough temperature. The owner did extend our check out time, but the hot tub still did not reach warm enough temperature. The kitchen was not stocked as described and the items that were there were in poor condition. The furniture is old, many dresser drawers broken, lamps not working. We could not get the fireplaces to work. The images are definitely outdated. My kids loved the loft area, but the one play fort that was there was broken. We could not get many of the light switches to work. The kitchen vent hood was broken as well. There were no hair dryers as mentioned in the listing. The owner responded to my communications, but there wasn’t anything that could be done to fix these issues during our stay and refund was not offered. The cabin is also located near a dilapidated building and the neighbor has put up cameras to ensure you do not enter their property which made us uncomfortable. Overall I think there are many other options in the area that are better maintained. I wouldn’t recommend. The home is currently listed for sale and it seems there is not much energy spent towards maintaining as a rental.

On August 6th, we booked a mountain cabin in North Georgia after extensive research to ensure it was child-friendly, remote, and aligned with our family’s needs.In the days leading up to the trip, I exchanged several friendly messages with the host, all indicating a normal, confirmed stay.Importantly, the host sent the check-in instructions days prior, including directions and the door code, which I reviewed and acknowledged. ROACHES ROACHES ROACHES! Do not stay here! The photos are outdated and misleading. The deck by the river isn’t even there. The games are broken. Old outdated heaters don’t work. Fire alarms either not working or not there at all. Roaches were crawling across the kitchen counter and scattering out of the bathroom sink. Some dead roaches were already on the floors. There is a hole under the kitchen sink where a rat has clearly been coming in and pooping next to the trash bags. We did not stay here, we packed up our things and left! The owner refused to give us a refund and said the only thing she could do was send her cleaning lady… for roaches and rats! Then she ghosted us completely and quit responding to any messages. I have traveled and used many vacation rentals and this is by far the worst place I have ever rented! DO NOT STAY HERE!

Host was fantastic with communication. House was fantastic for us. Close to fishing, VERY quiet and plenty of things to do in the game room or relax outside. Even a larger group would have their own spaces. We will return!

Had an absolute blast at the cabin. Everything was exactly as listed. Host was excellent with and very timely with responses to our inquiries. Had a racoon family stop by to see what we were grilling, which was hilarious. Definitely will be visiting again!

Not a fishing spot

The accommodations were pretty much as shown in pictures. My problem was how the listing was identified as a great fishing spot with excellent trout fishing. This was the only reason my elderly father wanted to go on the vacation. He made the absolutely dangerous trek down to the fishing area at the creek with his grandkids and was heartbroken. Unless you can get in the creek which is a whole other level of dangerous that only my kids attempted, you can not fish there. It is a tiny price of creek that you are allowed to fish where the creek barely goes over your ankles. My kids said they saw minnows. Also, there is a camera posted on the tree across from the dock to watch you that I’m assuming is from the neighbor we were warned can call the cops on you if you go more than 25 feet on either side(day before we left). Needless to say we weren’t there just for the rock hard beds/15 channels on the tv and one nicety of a hot tub. My dad and 2 bored kids requested we leave so we all stayed a total of 24 hours and left for home 2 days early.

Treehouse

The cabin was nice and plenty of room. The one complaint I had was the access to the creek. (We booked this for the family to trout fish), there was only a small spot to stand without having to actually get in the creek to fish and the fishing wasn't very good at our stay, (of course there is no control over the fish biting lol.)

Unique and fun cabin

Very versatile property with lots of different indoor/outdoor spaces to enjoy. We especially enjoyed the game room!

Mediocre

Our stay here was very mediocre. Pictures are very outdated and deceiving. There was food on dishes put away in the cabinets. There was also food and crumbs all over the high chair there. There were electrical outlets without covers on them, as well as an open and exposed light right by running water in a shower downstairs. The game room had arcade games that didn’t work but appeared to be something we could enjoy based off photos. There was not enough towels provided in the rental to accommodate the amount of people we had staying so we had to wash towels constantly just to shower. We reached out to the owner (which was complicated due to connectivity) to make her aware of downstairs heater not igniting (which is an extremely outdated and old unit). She acted like we just needed education on how to start it. Her response to us was “well reconnect in the morning.” After shivering all night (with children) she finally sent someone the next night just to drop off a portable one. The following night she sent out a company who was there for 5-10 minutes at like 7-8pm just to tell us the valve was broken (he was very unprofessional as well). The Wi-Fi was terrible and extremely slow. And last but not least…. The raccoons are definitely still running around in the attic and the traps set up are not working. Thankfully we had fun enjoying the presence of our family but the cabin wasn’t the most enjoyable experience we’ve had in blue ridge. We won’t be coming back here.

Great Couples Trip

Wonderful little Cabin tucked into the trees. Outdoor Space was wonderful for our group of 6 to gather and have fun. Cell service and WIFI are definitely spotty but that just made unplugging easier so we could enjoy our time together.

Not what we signed up for

The pictures of this cabin really lured us in. The place looked clean and updated which is what we were looking for. The location is incredible if you’re looking to spend most of your time exploring the area for outdoor experiences. It’s in the middle of just about everything but that comes at a slight cost. The internet connectivity makes it impossible to work at all so if you’re looking to vacation and stay connected to what’s going on, this is not the place. It also made it hard to communicate with the property owner since their only offer for support is through the VRBO app. With no cell service and poor internet connectivity, it was a bit frustrating. As for the photos on the listing, they are quite old. When we arrived, the place was very messy and some of the dishes were put back into the cabinets really dirty. We had to spend half the first day cleaning the place so the family would feel comfortable. The previous guests also left behind a bunch of loose trash in the animal proof garbage box so we were also afraid to get fined $70 as the sign in the house indicated. As for our first night of sleep, we found out that the cleaning service put the sheets on the master bed when they were damp so our bed smelled like they had been in a cave for ten years. We also found out there are a family of either raccoons or squirrels living in the ceiling of the house. They were knocking debris down through the cab lights so we were a bit fearful of them starting a fire.

Perfect family vacation

This property was perfect for our 2 families. Master bedroom was huge and the little kids loved sleeping in the loft area. The outdoor space was the real star of the show. We loved spending time in the hot tub while watching tv with a glass of wine to wind down in the evening. The men in our group enjoyed fishing on the creek below the house. Property is close by to hiking trails, tubing, etc. The town of Blue Ridge is just around 20 minutes away. Perfect getaway for our group. We hope to come back soon!

Great experience

Great experience to take the kids and stay. The kids loved the creek in the back, not very good fishing in May but the kids got in even though it was freezing. The house has everything you need. We loved the main porch with the hot tub, TV, and out door couches to hang out and spend time together. The WiFi is not good, but we didn't mind having to put the devices up. There is standard cable that works great.

Birthday getaway

We loved everything about the cabin except the water in the master bathroom doesn't get hot. It's hot for about 2 minutes when you first turn it on then the water turn icy cold for a few minutes before turning hot again. That needs to be fixed.

Great Family Spot

We loved our stay here! Anne was very responsive and prompt with any questions, the house was clean and comfortable and the location by the river was beautiful and peaceful. It made for a very relaxing, fun time for us all. The hot tub was the kids' favorite.

Relaxing and Clean

Our stay at this property was very pleasant. We had a bit of a problem initially with gaining entry to the front door, but Anne was readily available and got it taken care of promptly. The house was clean and well appointed. Our favorite part was the deck with the hot tub and outdoor fireplace. We enjoyed that each night and the area was so quiet that we could hear the river running behind the house. We also availed ourselves of the ping pong downstairs. We were four senior citizens who hadn't played ping pong in quite some time. It was fun and it didn't take long to regain our ping pong form! Just a suggestion if you book this property - If you plan to arrive on a Sunday or Monday, you may wish to take some starter groceries with you. The two small stores/restaurants nearby were closed by 4 p.m. Sunday and did not reopen until Tuesday & Wednesday. so the only groceries available required a 15-20 minute trip to Blue Ridge to the Food Lion. Overall this was a nice place to relax and unwind.
