“They do not offer breakfasts but serve free coffee and Thai snacks in the morning. To me, the Thai snacks are good enough as a simple breakfast to start the day.”

“I chose Makka Hotel because of it is just ~500m away from Tha Phae Gate where the Chiang Mai Marathon starts & ends (as well as where to pick up the runner's pack). The city is small, 30 min walking from Tha Phae Gate can go to most of the hot-spots inside the city. I had a pleasant 4D3N stay (Fri to Mon) in Makka; night markets, coffee shops & restaurants are everywhere.”

“Location is excellent, room is big and very clean.
Breakfast is ok although not many varieties.
The small swimming pool is a good place to spend an hour during the hot temperatures time in the mid day period.
Room price is very compatible”

“Highly recommended! The location was fantastic, and the food was absolutely delicious. The pool area was spectacular, and the gym equipment was well-maintained. The hotel’s beautiful surroundings added to the perfect vacation vibe.
The most impressive part was the friendly staff—they were amazing, always wearing warm smiles and providing exceptional service. Everything was perfect!
A truly unforgettable stay at Chala 6!”

"Disappointing Stay at Mövenpick Chiang Mai – Not Worth the Brand
Our Monday–Saturday stay was underwhelming from the start. No early check-in or late check-out was available, and our first room in Block C felt damp, old, and poorly maintained. The air conditioning was extremely loud, the bathroom looked untouched for years, and there were stains and grime that made the room feel dirty—far below Mövenpick standards.
After complaining, the night manager agreed to move us, but only the next day and without any refund, credit, or gesture of goodwill. The new room in Block A was better—still just “okay,” but at least acceptable since our booking was non-refundable. We were told Block B is similar to Block C, which says enough about the overall condition.
If you stay here, avoid non-refundable rates and insist on Block A regardless of room grade, as the “grades” seem to refer more to layout than quality. For what we paid, we could have stayed at a much nicer hotel in Nimman at the same category. It was also obvious that tour groups were placed in Blocks B and C, making those areas feel like lower-tier accommodations.
Overall, this stay was disappointing, uncomfortable, and not worthy of the Mövenpick name.

"the staff are very helpful and polite. Fabulous location, in the centre of the old city. In Chiang Mai, you could only take bolt or grab to travel. The traveling expenses were vety cheap. Good scenic views in the national park, especially those waterfalls scattered around. A tranquil journey which was so relaxing."
