I really enjoyed staying here! It was close to a lot of restaurants and a few markets. The area within the hotel was beautiful and staff were very friendly. The air conditioner didn't seem to blow as cold as it was saying, but overall the room was comfortable and clean!

It was comfortable in a great neighborhood. Breakfast wasn't great, and I wouldn't bother with it as you can do a thousand times better by walking around the corner. The shower was OK - but not a lot of hot water.

The property is a little run down but the room was spacious and everything was provided for us. The only thing that we didn’t get was an iron for our clothes, which was a little surprising! Breakfast was ok and nothing to write home about. Location was great and we were able to walk around the old town and see all the temples and markets etc.

Did not allow us to check in early. After flying for 20 hours, we just wanted to take a shower and lay down. The place let us leave our luggage at the hotel while we figured out how to kill time until check in. Most hotels usually allow you to check in early, for a fee so I was surprised at the hard no.

Viang Thapae Resort really is an oasis in this very busy area of Chiang Mai. The resort looks like a tropical island. The rooms are very well appointed. I loved the decor! It was also very clean. The bed was comfortable and A/C was working. There is a small pool that's perfect to cool down on hot days. The staff is super friendly and eager to help. Breakfast was a basic continental style with a few Thai touches. Nothing to write home about, but good and conveniently located in the lovely dining area overlooking the pond. Note that the address will lead you to the back door, which is locked after hours. The front door is just around the corner. I would recommend management put up a sign with directions. Overall a great stay and very much recommended for individuals, couples, and families.

My family of 3 stayed for 4 nights at the Viang Thapae resort. The property was very clean, well-maintained, and the ambiance was homey and welcoming in Thai decor and fashion. The staff was very friendly and helpful whenever we had questions or needed help with anything during our stay. Our third floor room was clean and the beds were comfortable. The A/C was also greatly appreciated throughout the night. It was a quiet and calm respite from the craziness of the night market, but conveniently close to shopping, street food vendors, and restaurants, just a short 5 minute away from everything! It was also only 5 minutes away from the GSB bank, which offered the best rates for converting our USD currency to bahts, The bathroom was clean and well-stocked, but the water was often at inconsistent temperatures, so sometimes our showers were lukewarm at best. It rained a few days, and the resort offered the free use of their umbrellas, which was a very nice touch. We used Grab to get around, but they usually stopped 100 feet to the left of the entrance, so be sure to walk out to check for their arrival. The resort offered daily breakfast and had a beautiful pool, but unfortunately we didn’t have the time to use either. We had a wonderful time and look forward to our next visit!

The place was really beautiful outside the room. The room was clean and had a nice place to take a bath or shower. The location was central to all the things we wanted to do. The only issue we had is back gate is where people come to often but it is locked so difficult when had luggage or trying to get a grab not knowing which entrance to go to. The staff was helpful and made sure we were taken care of. Lastly, would recommend eating off site as food was not ideal.
