Everything was terrible. Proprietor had a terrible attitude, the room stunk and was freezing. Also dirty to boot

You get what you pay for, it's not the best, but not the worst. A simple, quiet room. Staff was particularly rude.

For my needs, the location is the main attraction and it is a relatively quiet area. The rooms are run down and need some basic updating, especially the bathrooms. Towels and such could be newer as well.

Never again
Usually I'm fine with motels. I don't expect too much. This place is however the worst experience. I'd rate a hotel in Nepal which didn't have hot shower higher. It's not "dated". It's "old". Everything is about to fall, like the crown molding and coat rack. Towels are as hard as bath mat. The shower looks scary. I chose to be dirty for the night rather than use the shower. When I washed my face I felt the water smells like iron. The ceiling light keeps turning off after 15 seconds. The staff said it was because the sensor and gave me a piece of tape to cover the sensor. No. It didn't work. I put even a thick black gaff tape on it but no luck. Glad one of the two bedside lights worked (the other one had no way to plug). There's not many outlets for your convenience, like for your phone. The room has a microwave and fridge which is good. Also it didn't stink. Just dark and old. I'm also glad I didn't see any creatures in the room (you know what I mean) I couldn't relax at all.

Yikes
Typical old, run down motel. Needs a major overhaul. Crazy that they charged me $70 for the room. Was only worth about $35-$40.

I stayed in room that had no heat as far as could see. It was ‘40 degrees outside. I slept in a jacket and a hoodie. When I checked on the manger took my information though a open window. I wasn’t even allowed in the office. I will never stay here again.

this place was a sty hole and surprised if i didn't bring bugs out with me when I left. absolutely rediculous. Couldn't turn on heater because there was no face to the knobs on the unit. shower backed up when used. no lightbulbs in any of the lights

Disappointed
Room smelled musty, drapery falling off rods, rust stains bath tub and sink, faucets and bath fixtures dirty/lime build up. Cracked and missing tiles in bathroom. Room very outdated and not cared for. Was looking for a quaint piece of Americana , instead got the Bates motel

The staff were friendly and professional. The room was spacious and well-kempt for the price. Carpet could probably stand replacement, but overall clean, comfortable and quite a bargain for Chicago metro area. Not much in the immediate area, but then again that lent to a somewhat bucolic environs.

It was HORRIBLE!! Nasty! Hair all over the shower walls, carpet stains everywhere. Just nasty. I ended up sleeping in my car.

Du-Wayne is a Du-Not.
I never got to stay. When I walked up to the office window to check in the lady slammed it shut and said no. Wouldn’t look at the confirmation information or even speak with me. When I contacted hotels.com because there was nothing “affordable” for last minute I was told that someone would investigate and be back in touch. No one has yet to do that either.
