The Souria Historic Mansion, built in 1885 after the earthquake of 1881, is a unique structure with Ottoman elements and a new type of Smyrna architecture in the configuration and organization of the main facade with symmetry. It was bequeathed as a dowry to the owner's grandmother who restored it with respect and love. The name of Souria Street was given in honor of the great-grandfather Georgios Sourias, who was a Teacher of the Nation and a distinguished Headmaster of the Chios High School.
