"I wanted to like this hotel more than I did. After a lively conversation with an airport taxi driver, I expected more than an indifferent reception from the front lobby staff.
As a first-timer to Scotland, this slightly dampened my excitement about being in Glasgow.
No one greeted me or asked if I needed anything when I hesitated in the lobby. A few of the front staff didn’t even look up from their computers. This hotel is a four-star, so I expect more than a shrug when inquiring about Glasgow attractions.
At the bar, I waited seven minutes for someone to ask if I needed anything, even though several staff members rushed back and forth between the bar and the separate restaurant.
The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, but the bathroom was small. I didn’t find space for my toiletries, and the hotel offered no guest amenities.
The room service is limited, but the pricing is reasonable.
The good news is that the hotel is in the city center and close to the train station.
Would I return to this hotel? No. But it has its benefits."
