"The property was beautiful and the hosts were very helpful! It was the perfect spot for a getaway with friends! The location was perfect as it was a short drive from town and right on a gorgeous lake, where we had access to canoes and kayaks. We went on a few gorgeous hikes around the area (Whiteside Mountain, High Falls, and Rainbow Fallls at Gorges National Park). I highly recommend staying here, and I can’t wait to book my next trip!"

Unicoi State Park & Lodge

"We came to the Helen area for an event that kept us away from the property most of our time. We found the location to be the BEST feature for our stay. Close to Helen but away from the hustle and bustle of the "tourist attractions". We enjoyed the morning view of Yonah Mt. and the lush tree landscape, peaceful and quiet. The property is fairly well maintained and our room was a 4 out of 5 on cleanliness. A few swipes with a bug brush along the tongue and groove ceiling to remove old spider webs and we'd give it a 5 star on cleanliness. Bed linens needed a refresh as well as the bed pillows."

"First let me start with the good and then I will give my overall. The 2 bedroom was absolutely beautiful, and plenty of room for a group or family. Now... not until we arrived to checkin were we told the balcony was not safe and not allowed to be used. That absolutely was not expected for a mountain trip, not to be able to sit outside and enjoy it. Also, amenities.. NO ONE tells you that they are located off site! You have to drive down the road to enjoy the pool, mineral spring hot tub, or any other amenities. Having booked this location for far more space than needed because of the amenities and not being able to enjoy them was frustrating. We hiked approximately 10 miles and had hoped to enjoy the hot tub, but who feels like driving there and back after that kind of day. Make sure what you are looking for when booking, call and ask questions if any of this is something important to you or the deciding factor for staying here. To find all this out at time of checking in was beyond infuriating."

"We’ve been staying here for about 5 or 6 years now. It’s always been clean and nice not exceptional but nice. This time I have a few complaints. He has replaced the bed base with ones made of metal. Every time you sit on the bed or roll over it sounds like an oil can or beer can being flexed. It’s very annoying. The second issue I cannot confirm but I believe he may have taken in some “long term rentals” which were sketchy and loud. A small child was in the room above us and was allowed to stay up very late which translated to constant running and jumping while we were trying to sleep. We will go back next year however if the situation is the same, we’ll stay somewhere else."

"The hotel was ok. It was $250 a night for this I did expect a little more. It was mostly clean but had a little mold around bottom of shower. The staff was great, very helpful and attentive. The breakfast was normal for a hotel. Like I said just normal for an expensive hotel."

"The room was large, the beds were complete opposites, one was like a marshmallow on wheels and the other was like a stack of bricks. No light over the bathroom sink. The toilet was so small it was comical. Our door stuck ALOT. We finally just figured out to jiggle up, then down then shove. House keeping asked if we needed anything on Friday, I said clean towels. Well, he took the dirty ones but didn't bring any clean ones. Breakfast is just carbs. No lobby bathroom. The pool is empty and covered. It was a rough stay, I won't be back."
