The Shack at Port Clinton – Welcome!

• Pet-friendly: Fully fenced front and back yards for your furry friends.
• Comfortable living: Reverse cycle heating and cooling, plus accommodation for up to 6 people across three bedrooms (queen, double, bunk with single and double).
• Fully equipped: Kitchen and lounge with ocean views, digital TV, DVD player, and all essentials included.
• Relax: Spacious, shady veranda—perfect for unwinding and enjoying the sea breeze.
• Budget: great value, in a beautiful position with fantastic views. To keep things simple (and affordable), we don’t provide extras. (BYO bedding & linen, tea & coffee, internet). Other than that, everything’s yours to enjoy—make yourself at home!

Local Highlights:
• Just 125 km from Adelaide, Port Clinton offers sandy beaches, great fishing, and crabbing (Sept–April).
• Explore the 6 km Mangrove Walk to Price.
• Visit the general store, swim in the community pool, play bingo, or discover Clinton Conservation Park and its abundant birdlife.
• Enjoy scenic drives, bushwalking, museums, and golf across the beautiful Yorke Peninsula.

History:
Matthew Flinders first explored this coastline in 1802. Once an important shipping hub, the area holds rich stories, from its early settlers and jetty days to the nearby historic town of Price, now known for salt mining and classic local buildings.

Stayed 14 nights. Why choose here? Very Pet friendly allowed inside and out.The price.The location, Only 3 properties and across local road from water access.180 degree view of the water and weather across the gulf from the large front deck and from all large front windows. Modern kitcken and clean throughout with all necessary equipment.It's quiet and peaceful. Beautiful sunsets.Great base to Geocache from.Owners replied quickly to a safety switch problem. Very helpfully and friendly.Remember to bring ALL food ( no pantry items ) and ALL linens (sheets, quilt, bath towels, mat etc) Plenty of wardrobe space and hooks where needed.Large TV with usb (MP4 files work) There is a double adapter with 2 usb charge points.Very enjoyable time.

We have stayed here many years and it is clean, comfortable and has a beautiful waterfront outlook. I was worried if the algal bloom would affect our stay, but unless you are fishing or visiting the beach itself, you should not have problems. There were quite a few dead fish; but we were glad to support the local economy and had no problems sitting on the deck through the day and enjoying the beautiful view. There is no issue with odour (the bird population is well fed) so do not hesitate to book and stay in Port Clinton.

Hot water is easily used up. For 4 people showers need to be staggered throughout the day and best kept to a 5min max. Found that out the hard way. LolMagnificently clean place. Excellent equipment supply. Fabulous view. Lovely friendly town. Brilliant.

This house is right on the beach and is very clean & well equipped. Everything has been thought out well..lots of storage space & hooks which we liked for our dogs lead & jackets. Plenty of kitchen gear & the heating was fantastic..we had to turn it off after an hour or so. Very quiet & peaceful. We had the best relaxing 4 days!

The Shack - What a gem

Lovely location, very clean and comfortable property. Heating worked very well - heated all the bedrooms. Enjoyed dinner at the local Community & Sports Club.

A week at The Shack at Port Clinton.

The position and view were excellent but provisions were nil. There was no salt, pepper, tea, coffee sugar or other basics provided. All were locked away in cupboards with chains and padlocks on them. Only two rolls of toilet paper were provided for two adults for a week. We not only had to provide our own linen but quilt and pillows as well.The washing machine was coin operated!

Clinton Getaway to The Shack

Great location. Friendly locals. Daily walks along the foreshore including a section of Walk The Yorke. Corner store fuel. The Shack was well set up clean - easy living. Comfy beds. Views of the bay. We had a great time. Thx Kerry Steve.

Fantastic Location
