"Castaway Island was an absolutely wonderful place to stay for 7 nights with 2 kids (8 & 5yo). It was so incredibly relaxed, beautiful & fun. The staff somehow remembered our names which was amazing. I thought it was a Fijian thing, but at the next (fancier) resort we were reduced to madam & sir. Nothing was too much for the team. Once they even climbed a tree to cut a coconut for us.
The resort is spectacularly located on the water on two sides; so if it’s windy on one side the other side will be calm. When we ate meals with the kids, we could relax to finish our coffee or drink while they played on the sand next to us.
There’s so much to do - kids club, pools, beach, snorkelling, water adventure park, kayaking, paddle boarding, day trips, crab races, frog races, kids & Fijian performances - it was exhausting, in a good way. The other guests are generally very relaxed and friendly too.
A perfect day was beach in the morning; pool for lunch; then kids club for the afternoon & evening.
We appreciated the warmth, welcome & playfulness of the staff including Maria, Peni, Siteri, Saena, Alisi, Solomon, Dr Sili, Ima, Una, Mickey, Snow White, Maui, Peter Pan, Zac & Zan and the many many other wonderful team members whose names I can’t recall right now.

"Our stay at Beachcomber Island Resort was truly one of the highlights of our Fiji vacation. The location is absolutely stunning. The resort is situated on a beautiful island surrounded by crystal-clear turquoise water, white sandy beaches, and amazing snorkeling opportunities just steps from the shore. One of the biggest surprises was the quality of the food. Every meal was fresh, well-prepared, and offered a good variety of options. The chefs did an excellent job balancing local flavors with international selections, and the dining atmosphere overlooking the ocean made every meal even more enjoyable. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner were consistently satisfying, and there was always something new to try.
The resort atmosphere strikes a perfect balance between relaxation and social activities. There were plenty of opportunities to meet other travelers, participate in island activities, enjoy water sports, or simply unwind and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. We had to move bures after our first night as there was water leaking in the bathroom. Rooms are really comfortable..no need for air-conditioning at this time of the year...breeze through the screened louvres and fan was perfect for sleeping. Really loved having the outdoor shower."
