"The upsides: The hotel is BEAUTIFUL - truly an escape in the mountains. The pool overlooks the river which was stunning!!! We stayed at the Colibri house - the space was clean and even though it didn't have AC, we really didn't need it bc there are plenty fans and the night isnt as hot. The downsides: restaurant/bar closes really early and you also have to leave ready your order for brekkie the night before. The lady at reception wasn't very nice either. When we checked out we we moved to the pool and not event 2 mins after we sat down she came to us saying we had to leave unless we spent more $$$ - which we were planning to do lol but her attitude wasn't great"

"This was our third time to stay at this property and obviously we love it. It’s a great place for diving. Dulce the chef was amazing as usual and Lany was always there to help when we needed. We couldn’t have asked for a better vacation and will most likely be back again."

Port Paradise - Oceanfront with Private Beach - Kayaks & World Class Snorkeling

"My wife and I stayed at Port Paradise for a week in May for our 20th anniversary because we wanted a quiet and secluded location away from the typical tourist hotspots. It did not disappoint.Renee was an excellent host, helping in any way necessary. She helped coordinate with a both a fishing and scuba guide so we could be picked up right at the dock. No issues whatsoever planning those activities. Most everyone was using WhatsApp for communication. Cell service was not an issue and WiFi at the house was good.Carlos was also fantastic, helping with anything we needed and taking us out for a day trip to Jade Beach and Pigeon Cay to swim with the nurse sharks and rays, then to a local restaurant in Santa Elena. Highly recommended.The house was great, everything was clean and worked well. We knew once we got out there that we didn’t want to venture back into town so we tried to get everything we needed for the week at Eldon’s in French Harbour. There is also another grocery next to Eldon’s with additional organic and “clean eating” type products. Glad we did because going back into town would’ve taken up a good portion of a vacation day.The drive isn’t difficult, a little over an hour to experience the local driving culture. There was some road construction. The last mile is a little rough, but doable in the compact SUV we rented.The snorkeling right around Cow and Calf was awesome as well.We loved everything about our trip and hope to be back soon!"

"3 families, 8 nights, March 2026House is 80 min from the airport. Last 2.5 miles is a dirt road with steep hills and potholes. Would recommend a 4WD vehicle. House and grounds are wonderful. Property feels extremely private. Many different outdoor seating areas with space to spread out. Clean and in good condition. Pool area was wonderful and where we spent much of our time. Bar area with a freezer and refrigerator by the pool which was convenient. Beach is not great for swimming but kids found great shells and hermit crabs. Snorkeling right off dock was way better than we expected. Swim to the right for amazing coral formations, Sting rays, eagle rays, jellyfish, eels, nurse sharks, lobster, squid, octopus, and so many amazing fish. This is definitely a reason to stay at this house. Nearest large grocery store is an hour away. Few restaurants within 30 minutes. We stopped at the grocery store on our way to the house and bought snacks and drinks. We had Sherilee/Daphane cook our meals at the house and we are so glad we did! Didn’t have to worry about buying groceries and instead of cooking and cleaning up we were floating in the pool and snorkeling. If you want to be in a busy area with restaurants/bars in walking distance this is not the house for you. There is a small boat and the caretaker of the house will bring you to a restaurant by water. One trip included with stay. About half of our group was eaten alive by the no see ums. Bring deet, Benadryl, and hydrocortisone. "
