The house was cute, obviously renovated and for the most part clean. We did enjoy the kayaks. Other than that, I was extremely disappointed that the lakefront was completely unusable because of all of the vegetation in it. The property description states that you could "wade in the gradual lakefront" - completely inaccurate. Can't imagine anyone who would wade in that. Furthermore there were issues with the neighbor cleaning up after their pets and also the fact there had been a boil water advisory that we were never informed of. For what we got, we definitely over paid. I would absolutely look for a different rental if we come back to Conesus lake.

The House was nice. However a bit too close to the neighbors. The lake frontage was a swamp. No way can anybody even think of swimming there. The neighbor let his dogs do their business everywhere. Next to the dock, the grille, by our car door. It was disgusting to have to pick up after three dogs several times a day. We had no choice. That took away from our experience . The lake weeds have apparently been an ongoing issue which we understand is not easily contained. We wish we had known as we would have booked on Keuka as we have enjoyed that lake in the past. We feel disappointed. Sorry.

The house was nice and kept up well. We loved the lake. Unfortunately, we had some issues at the very beginning of our trip that soured the experience. First, the property was not as described. Lake weeds and lily pads made it impossible to swim off the property or off the dock. You had to go at least 100 feet off the dock to even consider swimming in the water. That was a big reason we rented this place and we were extremely disappointed when we saw we'd be unable to swim. Second, the house had not been cleaned from the previous renter. Dirty towels and full trash cans. We called the rental company, and they took care of things relatively quickly, however, that coupled with the deceiving property was not a great first impression. The pull out day bed was not made up; I had brought extra sheets, but if I hadn't, it would have been another thing we would have to call about. We made the best of our stay but I would never rent this property again. I feel very mislead from what I expected to what we got.

House was nice but was not happy with basically everything else. I don't understand why description on website says " enjoy wading in the water at the gradual lakefront" . I don't know who in their right mind would swim there. When you take a step in the water off the shore you sink in inches of mud. The thick seaweed and lily pads in front of the property was terrible. I specifically asked ahead of time if the location was a good spot to launch a jet ski, and was told yes which is not true. Neighbors of the property said that it is always a problem In order to not burn out the engine, we had to paddle out at least 300 yards before we could start jetski. We have rented properties on Conesus lake the past few years and never had a problem. . Also, WIFI on the second floor very spotty.

June 2018 Stay

REEL SIMPLE is a wonderful place to enjoy the beautiful Conesus Lake. Perfect location, easy access to the water, level parking, very nice patio and sunroom. Nice area for an evening fire by the lake, and loved taking photo's of the wildlife. (Eagles, Heron, Deer, Ducks etc.) Had some minor issues and the Maintenance person was here to take care of everything. Very efficient Rental company, and easy to work with!!!
