The house was very clean. It was in good condition as well. Typically when I rent houses, something is always broken. Everything worke as it should. The hot tub is roomy. We did not get to use the pool as the water was cold. It is a good location, all was quiet while we were there. I would recommend this house.

Beautiful home near beach access

We really enjoyed the house and all its amenities particularly the hot tub and pool area. Located just a short walk from the beach in a nice neighborhood. Thank you for allowing us to stay at your beautiful home. Would definitely recommend.

A Nice Getaway

Salty State of Mind provided a nice opportunity to get away from the everyday and spend some time in the Outer Banks. Despite the cold and rainy weather, we made it down to the beach for a walk everyday and enjoyed getting to know the Corolla area. The house is very comfortable and although it needs a few items fixed or updated, it suited us just fine. The location can't be beat.

Even Closer to Beach Than We Hoped

WOW! What an amazing week! We loved being on a beach block-the walk to and from the beach was SOOOOO easy-2 minutes! We also loved being in a community so close to shopping and dining. We walked to Duck Donuts each morning! 2 minutes drive BUT only a 20 minute walk on a shaded sidewalk. The house itself was perfect. The game room and pool table made for fun family evenings. New TV's and really fast internet! Well stocked kitchen too! You can even see the ocean from the various porches!

Absolutely wonderful

My family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Salty State of Mind. Our family consists of my husband and me, our 3 adult children, my 84-year-old mom and our dog. The bedrooms/beds were perfect for our group. The house was clean and well-maintained. We discovered that the vacuum was not working, but after calling the maintenance number, a new one was delivered within a couple of hours. Additionally, we decided to have the pool heated after we arrived, and within 30 minutes of calling the office, someone was at the house to turn on the heat. This was our 2nd time visiting the area and plan to return in the future.

Excellent family vacation property

This was our second time vacationing in OBX (Corolla) and this property met all of our needs. The house was available earlier than the check-in time and it was cleaned really well. We had a couple minor issues (noisy toilet, dead power outlet) and the management company was super responsive. They sent someone immediately and all of the employees we met at the house were very polite. We really appreciated that every bedroom had an en suite bathroom. The house also has plenty of puzzles and games, which are great for kids. 5-minute walk to the beach. We also used the community tennis courts, which were reasonably well maintained. Finally, we liked that the house is situated between Harris Teeter and Food Lion, 3-5 minutes away in either direction.

Comfy / Clean / Great House

Great house - so comfortable - wonderful mattresses! This house is very well- equipped with pots, pans, glassware, coffee makers (several), all types of knives, etc. We arrived on a Saturday and couldn't connect to the Wifi. The technician was responsive and indicated we probably needed a new router and would send someone the following day. The technician was great and arrived Sunday afternoon - no problems after that. As senior citizens never having been to OBX, we found the steps to the beach and inside the house quite daunting but our grown children and grandchild had no problem at all. Great washer/dryer. The master bedroom and bath were amazing - only one suggestion - could use another lamp by the bed - otherwise perfect week. Thank you for sharing your home.

Salty State beach house

This was a very nice home with comfy beds and at a good location, but I will never rent a home that is pet friendly again. Even though many of us are pet owners (but didn't bring them), the black hair left behind by the previous renter/renters was very unwelcome. Even after sweeping (3) times in the main living area, there was still considerable amounts of hair. Yes cleaning could definitely been more thorough, but renters are expected to clean pet hair left behind. The only other issue was some broken items that they either replaced quickly or will fix after end of season. Otherwise, we had a very nice stay and would recommend as long as you don't mind a less tidy home.

Very comfortable house, and it was one of the houses that did not flood in the recent 15 inches of rain, unlike many neighboring houses in the Ocean Sands development. All of the knives in the kitchen were notably dull. I've run into this issue most other years, so I used my electric sharpener, which I've learned to pack, to get them more useable. It would be helpful in the home's description to state that the coffee maker is the drip kind, and specifically that there is no Keurig machine. We could not find any large pot to boil pasta. There are no chairs in any of the bedrooms or living room. Our 2 year old grandson found a bucket of cigarette butts on the pool deck. His dad, our son, found a vape pen in the bed he and his wife shared.

Great Stay

Location was great! Easy walk to and from the beach and was nice being so close to so many great restaurants. Also, the homeowners were super thoughtful and we were gifted an amazing chocolate cake our first day at the house. Great touch! House had everything we needed and had plenty of room for all of us to be comfortable and stretch out. The only negative would be a couple maintenance issues that came up during our stay. Property management was quick to fix the issues, but we definitely went without AC on one of the floors the last couple days of our stay. The other issue that was a bit disheartening, was the frogs in the pool! Whenever it rained the pool would be filled with frogs. We tried to save some but a lot did not make it which thankfully none of our kids saw. But we did mention it to the property management. It may be something they need to look into because none of our neighbors seemed to have that problem.

This house was picture perfect- until we arrived. The description stated, "short walk" to the beach.. however, when you have 6 kids, and beach gear - those stairs alone make it one hell of walk to the beach! This would have been good information to put in the description. The house looked clean, the cleaners did a great job! However, the owners need to get a exterminator, as there were roaches, bed bugs, and other unidentified creatures inside, and outside the house. We found several roaches in our children's beds, the kitchen, in our beach gear, and crawling on the walls. Absolutely disgusting!!! The kitchen needs a good upgrade! Some of the drawers did not work, the trash can is missing the foot pedal, causing you to step on the hard metal lever to open it up. The microwave sparked every time we used it, so after two times of sparks coming out, we decided it was probably not safe to use. The house could also use a second fridge, and more pantry room for food storage. The pool was also much smaller than the picture depicted, and again, 6 kids swimming in that small pool caused a little bit of issue's, but we managed to work it out.

The home was nice and we will visit Corolla again. We came prepared with cups to use a Keurig coffe maker. There isn't one.🥴 We will definitely require a home with an Elevator and direct Oceanfront. We are a party of 12 in our 70s and 80s. We'll be in touch to reserve another home.
