Unsafe, Unclean, and Poorly Managed Stay

This home looks beautiful in the listing, but our actual experience was extremely disappointing and stressful.When we arrived, the front door was already open, and trash had not been taken out from the previous guests — which was not only unclean but very unsettling. As we got settled in, more issues became clear: the pool had loose tiles, one of the TVs didn’t work, the screen door was ripped, and the umbrella was broken. The balcony was also covered in spider webs and bugs, and when my mother and I tried to enjoy the outdoor space, she was stung by a wasp. This was terrifying, especially because she is currently undergoing cancer treatment, and it could’ve caused a serious medical reaction.We tried to focus on celebrating my son’s birthday and making the best of the situation, but the conditions were not acceptable. I reported the issues to the host, but they didn’t respond until hours later, and when they finally did, their attitude was dismissive and unhelpful.To make matters worse, after I shared my concerns, the host falsely accused us of damaging the toilet seats, which is completely untrue. We treated the property with respect despite the many issues we faced.Overall, this stay was not what we paid for. It was uncomfortable, unsafe, and poorly managed. I would not recommend this property or host. The photos are misleading, and the lack of cleanliness, maintenance, and communication made this trip unnecessarily stressful.

The house location was great. Walking distance from the beach and various restaurants or shops. We rented a golf cart for the week which was helpful.The house itself was below our expectations. Light bulbs were missing or broken, the outside deck on the third floor was dirty with spider webs, we had a bee nest in the deck on the second floor, the screen door to the deck was broken. The table in the family room was damaged. The house was a nicely build home a few decades ago, it just needs some maintenance.I sent a message to Lisa Monday to offer to provide a list of items to be fixed either during the week or for the next guests. I have not heard back from her as of Sunday. It’s a shame because it would not take a whole lot to make the experience a bit better.
