Take a ride in your 4x4 down the gorgeous sand beach to our Beautiful Octopus Oasis here in Carova Beach, OBX! (4x4 is required to access this vacation paradise.)
Ready for fun? Pack up the fishing & picnic gear and head to the beach for the day. Swimming, Fishing & good old fashion family fun, WITH the OBX Wild Horses roaming down the beach, you and your family can create the most INCREDIBLE memories during your stay here!
Back at the Oasis you can enjoy the hot tub and watch as the horses at times make their way through the yard. We are on a dead end road so quiet relaxing nights are always on the menu! Cornhole, boardgames and other fun activities are ready for those summer nights!
The house has been totally renovated, all new furniture & appliances, linens and towels provided. Enjoy some much needed relaxation in our ORGANIC/chlorine FREE Hot tub on bottom floor next to the out door shower. 2-full kitchens, one on the bottom floor for ease of outdoor grilling & the main kitchen is on the 2nd floor, both fully stocked with everything you might need.

We also provide 2-Beach Parking Passes. THERE IS A FEE FOR LOST PASSES.

Great house, great location

Location was amazing, the house was great..lots of space, clean, and it had everything we needed. Communication with the owners was perfect…we’ve never stayed anywhere with better communication, definitely makes for a good vacation.

Family Vacation

We have a WONDERFUL time during our stay!! This vacation was absolutely amazing and the most peaceful one ever. From driving on the beach to seeing the wild horses in the back yard, we loved every single moment. The hosts were amazing, very friendly and helpful. Wished we could have stayed longer but we will definitely be back next year.

This was our first time renting a house on the beach anywhere. It was very secluded. There were a few issues, but I suspect any place like that has a few issues. So I guess you get what you paid for.

Best experience of OBX to date

Overall best experience to date I’ve had at OBX. Raw and untamed, what I envisioned the island to be before heavy tourism and development. Wild horse encounters were more than you can count on two hands! Trent and Stephanie were helpful,prompt,and courteous.private and secluded .

Great stay!

We visited for over July 4th with another family and had a toddler, a 5 year old, and 2 teenagers. There was plenty of space for everyone. The house was clean and really nice. The hosts were very communicative and responsive. They reached out and gave us good advice for getting there and some things to consider before leaving the paved road, and were flexible about check in so we could drive on the beach at low tide. We enjoyed the hot tub and got to see horses wandering through in the evenings. It was amazing to be able to pack up all our stuff for the beach and drive right to where we wanted to go. Overall, great trip and we’ll probably be back!

Perfect Family Getaway on the 4x4 – Spacious, Peaceful & Close to the Beach!

We came over from the mainland (Currituck) to stay on the 4x4 beach for the long weekend with family, and this house was perfect for our crew. We had a group of adults and kids ranging from 8-16, and there was plenty of room for everyone—actually way more space than we expected!The layout was great: a bunk room and king bedroom on the bottom floor, a master king on the second, and then a king, queen, and two sets of bunk beds on the top floor. Everyone had space to spread out, and no one was on top of each other, which is saying a lot for a big group like ours.The location was one of our favorite parts—it’s farther north on the beach, which made it feel more peaceful and less crowded than the southern end. Super easy access to both the beach and the public boat ramp, which made our days full of fun and zero hassle.Overall, such a great house in a quiet, beautiful spot. We’d absolutely stay here again!

Weekend Getaway to Paradise

We stayed at Octopus Oasis for the weekend to celebrate our son graduating from high school. It was the perfect getaway. The house is beautiful & well maintained. The remoteness offered the tranquility we all needed to escape from the busyness of life & just reconnect with each other. The beach was only a 5-minute drive from the house. Loved being able to pack up & drive on the beach to spend a relaxing time without having to lug equipment through the sand. Being with nature, seeing the wild horses, & not having to deal with the hustle/bustle of a "beach/tourist" area, was truly the best part. We typically go to Ocracoke for the serenity, but Carova is definitely our new go-to. The owner & property manager were both wonderful to interact with & truly the best hosts. Thank you so much for sharing your home!

It’s the 1st vacation we’ve taken in years! Didn’t know what I was doing when booking , but it turned out to be amazing!!! Myself my kids and my mom all stayed. The owner was very helpful and made it a great vacation! Very helpful with everything. The house was great!!! It was exactly like described on Vrbo!!! I would definitely recommend! When it says “secluded “ they mean it!! Great vacation was had by all!!!

Truly an Oasis!!! A trip that restored the soul!!

The home was in tip top condition. New everything, including hot tub, appliances, all beds and pillows (high end excellent quality). It truly makes for a better experience having peace, quiet, clean and comfy bedding. The owners were truly a blessing, living nearby. They were the definition of true southern hospitality. They went above and beyond making our stay as comfortable as possible. I could not have asked for a better host from maintaining the hot tub, answering numerous questions about the area, explaining the safest ways to enjoy the 4x4 beach, and much more. Octopus Oasis exceeded my expectations!!! I have owned a shore home, and have traveled the states extensively and highly recommend this experience!!

Beach access only beautiful beaches, wonderful sunsets and amazing wild horses

Upon arriving to the property, the property was very clean. It’s in a very secluded area. There are some properties close to the house, but everybody is very respectful. We noticed that the house had lots of room for large families it was just my wife and I and the two dogs so we did not use most of them. The host left watering bowls for the dogs and food bowls two big bottles of water for us. The water near that area is not the best. If you know, you know. The house did state that the owner will be adding a new well soon for better water. The host was very attentive. He also ensured that the hot tub was ready to go cleaned out with non-chlorine disinfectant. we arrived in the evening so it was getting dark quickly so we didn’t do much that evening but watch TV and fix a easy dinner. There’s a barbecue pit outside plenty of cookware, towels and linens. There are two main decks off the house and a higher balcony on the third level. Perfect spots for morning coffee. After the first night we noticed that the TV in the main room went out the host came over within about 15 minutes looked at the TV and confirmed it was not operational and offered to replace TV while we were there. We said not needed because we didn’t come there to watch TV. We just watched tv in one of the other rooms. Wifi was pretty good coverage especially for an austere environment. We had a great time watching the wild horses and the beaches to ourselves. Highly recommend.

Wonderful place

Beautiful place to stay, owners were very helpful. Absolutely loved the location within minutes of beach but yet private and secluded. Great home for multifamily groups, extremely clean w/all the kitchen accessories needed which is very difficult in vacation rentals when you're cooking all your BBQ meals and so on, Definitely RECCOMMEND, plus seeing all the wild horse right out your back door - Amazing.

How to go M.I.A in three easy steps...

Last minute getaway for us after a very long drought of down time. We really wanted to be left alone...as in, alone alone. Lol And this place fit the bill perfectly. I booked it. We drove there. Newly renovated house in amazing location

House is surrounded by live oak, very private, near other houses but they can't see you. Beach access is 4x4, super convenient, you don't have to walk or carry beach stuff from your house to beach. House is 3 floors, all newly renovated, new kitchen appliances, new small kitchen appliances, new dishes, new furniture, NEW 6 PERSON HOT TUB, new large flat screen internet TV's with Roku in all 3 living rooms and all 5 bedrooms, new mattresses and bedding in all bedrooms, house sleeps 17 in beds and 22 off the floor if you use the five full size sofas, Fast wifi, large front porch to hang out on, clean spider free outdoor shower, lots of parking, the wildlife is incredible, wild horses everywhere. Great house. Great location. Friendly, helpful owners.
