Great Stay at the Wild Octopus

We loved our stay at The Wild Octopus! Upon arrival it was clean, there were plenty of towels in the bathrooms plus towels for the pool. There was ample space for parking cars, golf carts and space in the garage for our beach gear. We felt comfortable in the house and had plenty of space to relax. The location was great, halfway between both pools with easy access to the dock. We will definitely stay here again.

Wonderful Townhouse in Great Resort

Overall, our stay was amazing. Property was clean and ready for us when we checked in. The turnkey support was amazing and quickly responded to our texts for questions that we had. Only things to consider when selecting this property is that the area around the location is under construction so you have a lot of workers and equipment in the area during the week. Also, the townhouse is a middle unit so you will hear neighbors if they are loud. In our case our neighbor threw a party on Friday night and we heard the music till around midnight. Overall great experience a d would book this Location again.

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This house is large and clean. Pictures are accurate. Thoughtful amenities such as high chair, activity gym for the baby, books, drying rack and plenty of toiletry/kitchen items. We cooked a couple of meals in the house and it was nice. The kitchen is fully stocked. The pool was heated and a short walk away. The beach was just ok. Wet sand and choppy waters. Golf course was good for seasoned golfers. The only disappointment were the onsite restaurants and the city of Port Aransas. Finding dinner was a big hassle. On-site restaurants weren't opened on weekdays. We were turned away when we showed up to Black Marlin on Friday at 8pm for dinner. Reds was overcrowded and no seating available. Most restaurants in the city are closed by 9 so forget about late-night eats unless you want fast food.

Disappointed

Not too happy with our stay. The place was not super clean and did not have all the amenities that it did last year (ie: kuerig, hardly any bath towels, trash bags, no laundry detergent). Property itself has taken a beating over last year. Dryer did not work well & there were several straws and other plastic items melted onto the element of the dishwasher. Couldn’t sit outside due to all of the construction. Sad to spend this amount of money for the experience we had.

Was not very clean. Only “looked clean”. Hairs everywhere. Popcorn in chair cushions. Dead cockroach in shower. Upstairs carpet not vacuumed. Dishwasher still had dirty dishes in it.

Fun time with the grandkids!

Enjoyed three nights’ stay with daughter in law and grandkids. Cool and comfy house! Complete with baby gates and pack n play. Close to the beach. Quiet at night.

it was almost perfect except for no one picked up trash from the previous stay...

the property was very CLEAN (our #1 priority at every stay) and exactly as pictured. There were plenty of towels and kitchen utilities for us to cook every meal at home. They even had a small portable charcoal grill which was a very pleasant surprise because we definitely made use of it at the beach. The check in process was easy and straightforward. The walk down to the beach was a short 10-15 minute walk and if you wanted to take your car instead of renting a golf cart, it's only a 5 minute drive. Everything was almost perfect EXCEPT the garbage bins located in front of the garage were not emptied prior to us getting there so we were greeted by an army of flies at arrival. I called guest service and was told maintenance would pick up trash the next day but that never happened during our stay so we ended up having to set all our trash by the garage door. We were very bothered being surrounded by flies every time we came in and out of the house that I almost gave this property 3 stars but i felt bad because everything else was great.

Very Kid Friendly

I will rate any home 5 stars that leaves toys for kids! We furnish our rentals with them as well. The home is lovely, very spacious. House was clean, all the sheets were filthy though. Like very dirty. You could tell they hadn’t been washed after many sleeps. Kitchen was very well furnished. AC worked great! Loves having access to the garage as well!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I would certainly recommend this property. We had a 3 bedroom, 3 bath which gave us plenty of room and privacy. The condo was well appointed and equipped and very clean. It was well maintained. Our only complaint was that lconstruction was taking place the entire time beginning at 7 am even on Saturday and Sunday. It made the front balcony unusable. The backup noise on the trucks was very loud. Beach access was good and rental of umbrellas was easy.

The dishwasher is very quiet so one can do the dishes and not be disturbed.On the negative side there is a bit too much construction noise.We encountered a couple of cockroaches.The dishwasher was plugged in to an outlet that was not powered. We re-plugged it to a working one.The garage doors were opening unexpectedly so we had to trip the circuit breaker for the night.
