The Space:
A dog-friendly suite in the Grand Lodge's building at the base of Mt. Crested Butte — a separate king sleeping area plus a living room, built for travelers who bring their pets and want to cook between adventures.
➔ Sleeping: A separate king bed area, plus a sofa bed in the living room, so four sleep comfortably with the bedroom set apart.
➔ Kitchenette: Stove, mini fridge, microwave, dishwasher, and coffee maker — a real cook-in kitchenette, not just a bar fridge.
➔ Bathroom: One full bathroom with a tub.
➔ Pets: Dogs are genuinely welcome — easy in and out for walks, with trails and town a short stroll away.
➔ Building Amenities: Indoor and outdoor heated pools, hot tub, gym, elevator, and a fireplace lobby.
3 Pros:
✔ A pet-friendly suite with a separate king area and a real kitchenette — a step up from the studios
✔ Indoor and outdoor heated pools plus a hot tub for after a day out
✔ The most affordable building at the base of Mt. Crested Butte, shuttle to town steps away
2 Cons:
✗ Built in 1999, a 3-star building with dated common areas
✗ No A/C (rarely needed at 9,375 ft) and no in-unit washer/dryer
Guest Access:
You have the entire suite to yourself, plus full access to the Grand Lodge's shared amenities: the indoor and outdoor heated pools, hot tub, gym, and fireplace lobby. Check in yourself anytime with the keypad code — there's no front desk at the Grand Lodge, but we respond quickly by message. Your unit comes with free parking, an elevator to your floor, and easy in-and-out for walks with your dog. Shared amenities are operated by the building's HOA and can occasionally close for maintenance.
The Neighborhood:
The Grand Lodge sits at the base of Mt. Crested Butte, a short walk from the Crested Butte Mountain Resort lifts, with the free town shuttle stop only a couple of minutes away. The surrounding base village has a coffee shop, restaurants, a convenience store, and rental outfitters at the doorstep, plus open ground nearby for dog walks. Historic downtown Crested Butte and its Elk Avenue — galleries, restaurants, and preserved Old West architecture — are about a seven-minute drive, with the free shuttle running between the mountain and town. The area is a year-round outdoor base: skiing and snowshoeing in winter; hiking, mountain biking, rafting, and wildflower season in summer. The Gunnison-Crested Butte Regional Airport (GUC) is about a 45-minute drive.
Getting Around:
You don't need a car here — the lifts, coffee, restaurants, and a convenience store are all within a short walk, and the free town shuttle stop is a couple of minutes away.
