Relaxing country retreat

Lovely Cottage in Rural Environment

The cottage is well-equipped with a nice shady terrace close to a forest with a lot of hiking trails. We enjoyed our stay very much.

Peaceful Country Property

Cozy cottage with all facilities including wood heater. Nice balcony to sit, enjoy a coffee and read. Very pretty lake/property, back to nature with walking trails. Very accommodating host. Recommend for a peaceful break.

Peaceful getaway.

Beautiful property,everything you need is there.A fantastic,idyllic peaceful surrounds. The host Jonine and Jeff very warm and approachable,nothing too difficult. Very handy to breweries, wineries and Ferguson Valley. A must see the Heritage Park,Dardanup.

Fabulous family getaway

Great spot for relaxing family getaway. The house was amazing and catered to all our needs. The peace and quiet was a delight as was wandering the farm and chatting with owners. A great location for exploring the Ferguson Valley and surrounds. We definitely recommend and look forward to visiting again.

Enjoyable stay in every season

Relaxing holiday break

Beautiful, well maintained cottage in quiet location. Extremely relaxing just sitting on the balcony with a glass of wine. Fully equipped kitchen, relaxing lounge / dining area and welcoming host. Close to all attractions of Ferguson valley. Highly recommended.

Peace and Quiet

We had a lovely relaxing few days in the tranquil surroundings. We enjoyed watching the animals and large variety of birds. The house is beautifully decorated and has everything you could possibly need. Would love to return.

Wonderful relaxing experience.

We loved staying at this picturesque property . Only the sounds of birds and animals. The outlook is beautiful. On arrival fresh flowers in the rooms. Fresh eggs and a bottle of wine in the fridge. The hosts are lovely warm and engaging.

Peaceful Paradise

We had the most relaxing few days at Carringal with a group of friends in the Ferguson Valley. The gist Jonine was so lovely,friendly and accomodating. The cottage was beautiful,clean and very comfortable and we loved sitting on the veranda watching the sheep and wrens. Loved picking fresh blueberries from the vege patch too. Thanks Jonine, we'll be back.

Super host, super stay

So glad we booked here! That’s the feeling you get as soon as you enter the property. Comfortable, relaxing, peaceful and private. The cottage is generously equipped and well placed for visiting Ferguson Valley - if you can drag yourself away from the tranquility of that front verandah! Jonine’s welcome was as warm as her bubbles cold. She was ever quick and willing to respond to requests for help and advice. Thanks for the flowers.

Simply beautiful

What an amazing stay we had! The photos and description definitely do not do this accommodation justice. It was so peaceful and beautiful to wake up. My 6yo loved waking up to the animals and feeding the horses a carrot every time we left the property or returned to the property. Jonine was absolutely delightful to deal with both in person and via email. She welcomed us to the property and gave some tips as to where to visit with our kids. Upon departure we left an item behind and she called us to advise and went out of her way to reunite us with our item left behind. Would highly recommend and would also love to return in the future.

The information on Stayz was in incorrect, the property was not called Crooked Brook.

I received an email from Stayz 2 days before I left for my holiday with a map. This should have been sent at time if booking with the correct property name and address. We had to go to the Visitor Information place for information on the property, they called the owner and we obtained the correct property name and address. The aerial of the property is not what you get when you arrive at the property, instead of overlooking dams, you have water tanks and trees out of the windows. Very disappointing and won’t be booking with Stayz in the future.

But wait, there’s more!

We booked a family weekend away for myself and two teenagers, thinking it would just be a comfy cabin for us to celebrate an early Christmas and hang out in. I knew we would be on a farm, but I didn’t expect to be met with freshly laid eggs in the fridge, just picked avocados on the table and all the sheep baaaaa’ing as they walked past. (Who knew sheep had such individuality in their baaahs?!) The photos of the cottage don’t do it justice. The styling is perfect, with lovely linen, plush cushions, lots of houseplants and cute gnomes to greet you. The kitchen had everything we needed, even milk in the fridge.and a chilled bottle of “Counting Sheep” wine (cute!). We enjoyed opening all the windows to breath in the country air, but the AC, fans and fireplace cater for all Mother Nature has in mind.Last but certainly not least, the host! Jonine was warm and welcoming. I loved that she stopped for a couple of sweet chats on her walk with one of the dogs. She reminded me to go pick berries, which I assumed would be a bush or two, but there was a massive hedge of both blue and blackberries and we came back with a bowl full of fresh, sweet fruit. I didn’t mention the ambience, the birdlife, the super comfy beds, the gardens, lakes, and location. Dardanup’s bakery was a highlight, as was Wellington Dam and the surrounding forest drives. We should’ve booked longer! Thank you Jonine!

Just what we wanted

If I chose two words to describe this property, they would be "welcoming" and "generous". We entered to find a comfortable, cozy, well furnished place with lots of little extras to make us feel welcome. The location is terrific for a quiet stay, with good access to larger, busier tourist towns. Margaret River is only a little over an hour away, while Bunbury, with its excellent Bunbury Farmers' Market and large supermarkets, is only half an hour away for those who wish to self cater. It's also close to the Ferguson Valley, with quirky Gnomesville and many wineries and breweries to visit and enjoy lunch, and for dinner Boyanup Tavern (excellent pizzas) and Dardanup Tavern are less than 15 minutes away. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes, utensils and cookware, even an espresso maker and coffee. Our lovely hostess had left some farm fresh eggs, wine, milk and chocolates in the fridge and a platter of limes and avocados on the table, as well as a range of basic supplies in the cupboards and freezer. The furniture was comfortable and the bedding soft and warm. There were plenty of towels and blankets if needed, with liquid soap supplied at the sinks and in the shower. Books and games were available, as well as a TV. Phone reception is spotty but there is good WiFi. We loved watching the birds at the feeder (food supplied) and birdbath. I was unable to walk in the nearby forest, but if you're mobile it looks inviting. I thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to return

Relaxed Getaway

Beautiful property, great hosts and location

My daughter and I had a lovely stay at the cottage. Jonine and Jeff were great hosts and have a beautiful property with lots to see and do on the farm and in the surrounding valley. The cottage was very comfy and clean. Thank you so much, we would love to return!

Perfect to disconnect!!

The cottage was clean, full of commodities, and comfortable. Located in an amazing property where you have beautiful horses, wildlife and a lake for the fishing lovers. The host was welcoming and attentive. We will definitely be back there.
