Welcome to the River House! Our retreat is in the small town of Cuddebackville, a two-hour drive from New York City. The home is directly off a quiet road with private access to the Neversink River in the backyard. Enjoy a quick escape into nature and unwind in the peace and quiet.
You have the home to yourself. We have a smart lock on the front door for easy check-in.
Our open space is designed for a group to easily share together: a fully stocked kitchen, large dining and patio tables, hot tub, pool table, and an ultra-cozy living room complete with a woodburning fireplace awaits. The three bedrooms have two queen beds and two twin beds in all and the primary and secondary queen bedrooms share a Jack-&-Jill bathroom with a shower stall.
Enjoy the river views from the hot tub or wrap-around deck. Outside you can take a swim in the river, go fishing, roast marshmallows at the campfire under the stars, use the grill and dine outside, or enjoy a book in the hammock. We also provide outdoor games and an EV charger in the garage!
We do have neighbors on either side of the home and ask you keep noise to a minimum after 10pm.
The riverbed can be rocky and slippery, bring watershoes or sturdy sandals. The river flow changes all the time, visit WaterWatch.USGS .gov to check the Neversink River’s streamflow to determine if you could expect to kayak during your stay.
The house is in a rural environment with some wildlife in the area. Along with adorable chipmunks, you may also encounter bugs and ticks.
The home is a quiet getaway while being just under two hours from New York City, please note that it is also 20 minutes away from grocery stores and shopping centers. Up the road is a small gas station and Dollar General for quick supplies.
Hiking trails and waterfalls are close by in all directions, including the Neversink Unique Area and Gorge Trails, Basha Kill Wildlife Refuge, and Minnewaska State Park.
