Country Getaway
This was exactly what we needed! We wanted to relax and slow down and we did. Lucky Star Farm is beautiful and an easy drive from the distillaries and downtown Culpeper. The house is immaculate and comfy. Shari and David are wonderful hosts! We learned a lot too! So fun. Would stay again!

Weekend Retreat
My three daughters and I enjoyed a peaceful weekend with chilly weather, beautiful views, and a warm farmhouse. We decided to stay in and rest for most of the visit instead of visiting the nearby mountains as planned . The farm house is well cared for with comfortable furniture, a modernized kitchen and bathroom. The cattle are close by and far enough away to enjoy them without being annoying. Everything is well thought out and help is available if needed. We enjoyed our stay that we really needed for rest and relaxation.

Fantastic quiet property a bit off the beaten path which is great. Property is beautiful, house was in great shape for us, withing 30 mins of anything we needed. If we're in the area, we'll stay here again.

Charming little farmhouse
Very cute house with all the comforts! Perfect for a girls weekend halfway between Monticello and Mt. Vernon. Loved watching the cows in the fields and the absolute silence and darkness at night. So peaceful and picturesque! And Sheri was awesome, very easy check in and out!

Peaceful and Easy
What a quaint place to stay! Communication from the beginning was quick and easy. Shari was so accommodating as we had a mix up in plans. She was so easy to work with. The house was perfect, and the beds were great.It is a 15 minute drive to stores, but we enjoyed that. The town of Culpeper has some great places to eat! Shari supplied a very helpful binder with recommendations. My daughters and I visited and stayed 3 nights. It was a perfect fit. I hope to be able to come back with my husband.

Clean and Comfortable Old Farmhouse
The host was very easy to communicate with. The location was perfect for us - 20 minutes from Culpepper, 10 minutes from our event location. It looked and smelled clean. It was well appointed with everything we needed easy to see or easy to find. There were dishes appropriate for kids, which was thoughtful and great. This is in the listing, but I do want to emphasize this is a one bathroom home with only a stand up shower, no bath tub. Kids were not thrilled but we survived just fine. It's a well cared for, sturdy house but an old one - sloping floors and bugs (spiders) finding their way inside but very much minding their own business. If we come back to this area, we would absolutely stay here again.

Thank you for your comments. I'm glad you enjoyed your stay. This is the first time I've heard about any issue with insects. I am happy to share that I have walked through the entire house twice since you left and observed only one small moth that I shooed out the door. - Given that your stay coincided with lots rain and wind, thanks to hurricane Ian, it is no surprise that any living things were looking for shelter. But, I have our pest guy making an extra visit today just to make sure there are no further issues.

Lucky to stay there!
Our 4-night experience at the Lucky Star Farm was amazing - everything was absolutely perfect! We felt so fortunate to find this place. If you are in that area of Virginia and looking for a quiet and peaceful respite out in the country, away from the hustle and bustle, you must stay there! The house is lovely, the surroundings are beautiful, and we had everything we needed - the owners are very gracious hosts. The fresh eggs they provided were great. Just Dreamy!
This property was perfect from top to tail. I felt as if we were in a movie set! The location of this dreamy guest house and the land around it is something you see in the movies! The house was incredible and it was spotless and very well stocked. The host was incredible and always responded to all my questions very quickly. Everything inside and outside the house was just in wonderful condition and the house was just so quaint and very roomy. It definitely looks smaller in the photos. We sat on the two outside porches a lot just taking in being on this gorgeous farm and the cattle would just be walking in the fields. It truly was dreamy. So private and quiet. It was a very relaxing vacation and that’s what we needed! Thanks so much Shari for sharing this lovely house with us. Thanks also for leaving the fresh eggs for us, they were delicious !! Beautiful property
This is a beautiful property-- rolling hills, trees, cows, country lanes. The house is quite big, with seating areas in the front and back. It is very rural, but DoorDash still delivered! It is conveniently located near several Civil War battlesites ( Chancellorsville, Wilderness, Fredericksburg, Spotsylvania). We took a day trip to Mt Vernon (1.5-2 hrs depending on time of day and traffic). There is lots to do nearby and closest amenities about 10 minutes away. We were pleasantly surprised to find that the host left some eggs, coffee, creamer, and other basic supplies so we did not have to go shopping immediately after we arrived. We hope to return!

Our second stay!
We last stayed here in 2019 and had such a wonderful time we wanted to return. Covid delayed things, but we were so happy to stay at the farm again this summer! It was just as we remembered: beautiful, quiet, scenic and peaceful. The house is well appointed and the beds are very comfortable. The hosts are friendly and helpful with any questions. We loved watching the cows and even enjoyed seeing a fox hunting through the yard one evening. It’s an easy drive to Charlottesville and Fredericksburg. We would end the day watching the sun set while sitting in the adirondacks on the front porch. We would absolutely return again!

Cozy spring long weekend.
We just stayed for our 2nd time at this great farmhouse. We had an unusual cold spell that kept us inside more than we had planned, but ended up having a nice cozy long weekend enjoying some nice meals watching some movies on our when we get freetime list. The farm house has plenty of space for time spent inside, we had more than enough space for just us 2. We peeked out to check on the cows frequently and were able to get out and mosy around a bit mid-days at the warmest points. We had a peaceful, restful good time!

A perfect stay
We stayed in Lucky Star Farm's guest cottage for Spring Break and had a wonderful time. The house layout is perfect for a family with 2 kids (stick them upstairs and you won't have to tiptoe around after bedtime) and the kitchen is well-stocked with all essentials. Shari provided fresh eggs on the first night although we may have eaten them all in a single breakfast. The property is arranged such that you will see 1-3 cows out every single window of the house at any given time. There isn't a lot in the way of activities right on the property, but plenty to do within a 15 mile drive. We hit playgrounds in Culpeper and got delicious carry-out from the only Mexican restaurant in Locust Grove. Fredericksburg is also reasonably close although Rte 3 traffic may not be to your liking if you're trying to escape the suburbs. We felt like this was a perfect cottage for a Spring / Fall visit, when the temperature is still a little crisp and the bugs are nonexistent. We'll definitely be back some day!

Paradise~A perfect gem hidden in Culpeper, VA
If you want to really disconnect of noise, COVID, mail, etc. this is the right place to be. It is simple, but classy elegant, with most amenities in a regular hotel but comfy kitchen and living as well as bedrooms to make it a very pleasant stay. The cows are beautiful animals, it was a great sunset and more beautiful rising in the morning, the owner was always in touch and provided a basket of fresh eggs from the farm. We have lots of memories from our stay. We loved the Lucky Star farm💓We hope to visit again!

Lovely farm getaway and nice hosts
We had a great weekend getaway here. A very cozy and peaceful home and you wake up to cows grazing outside the kitchen window. Shari went out of her way to ensure we had a nice stay and left us fresh eggs in the fridge. Downtown Culpeper is charming and a quick drive from the house. We would stay here again.

Home away from home
When we first arrived we felt like we were home. . The air conditioner was turned on and eggs in the fridge. Shari did communicate as to when we would arrive to make sure the door was unlocked and the A/C on While we were unpacking Shari did drop by to see if we needed anything, that was so kind. We had a great time at the home. When it says you don’t need to bring anything, it means don’t need to bring anything. The house was so well stocked. The only thing you need to bring is your groceries that you will cook with. She had the basic spices, coffee, coffee filters, soap, laundry detergent, aluminum foil, plastic baggies, etc. The pictures are very accurate in the listing. We ate on the porch every meal. It was so calm and peaceful. It was fun to say hello to the cows every morning. We had hoped to do some stargazing, but the weather did not cooperate. It was foggy/cloudy during our time here. You will not go wrong when you rent this place. If we come back to this area we will definitely rent this lovely home again

Lovely, quiet property
If you're looking for peace & quiet, this is it. A little bit of infrequent traffic noise from the nearby road (not much), and a few mooing cows & a barking dog way off in the distance, but nothing more. We enjoyed sitting outside at all hours & soaking in the quiet & the beauty of this property. The house is very cute, super clean, comfortable, and well-stocked. Its convenient to Culpeper, which is just off to the north. The host was incredibly nice, and she has everything well organized in the house. We can't wait to come back!

Caring Owners
An issue arose on late Saturday night at the cottage. The kind of issue that happens to all of us as homeowners. Being that late and the following day being the 4th July, I was not hopeful. BUT Shari had the problem solved in an hour - amazing testament to care for her guests!!

Relaxing farm stay on a cow farm
So relaxing. Cows are almost all around the property eating or resting in the shade, sometimes up close or out in the field depending on the time of day. Spacious old farm house with everything you need. We had the best time and will go back soon! 18 minutes to Culpeper “Moving Meadows Farm Bakery & Cafe” where you can buy fresh dairy products, fresh chicken, beef, breakfast sausage, fresh local eggs, and fresh baked bread. In the other direction 22 minutes “Miller Farm’s Market” where you can pick your own in season produce and buy local honey, cheeses, dairy, beef, jams, & canned goods.

Lovely stay in Cow Country!
We had an awesome stay at this property. It was about 50 minutes from Shenandoah national park, which was why we stayed here originally, but the property absolutely beautiful. Rolling hills for miles, great sunrises and sunsets. The inside accommodated our family of 4 so well. My children were very entertained by the cows. It was a real country experience! Shari even left us some farm fresh eggs to enjoy when we arrived. She was available and helpful when we needed assistance. My son made us promise to return- and I think we will! Thank you!

Slice of heaven
Amazing property. Amazing views. This property has EVERYTHING you could possibly need. The farmhouse is beautifully decorated. Beds super comfy. Plenty of room. Although we enjoyed sitting out on the porch’s. We also happen to be lucky enough to witness the birth (at a distance) of two beautiful calf’s. Julie and Julia. Twins. Sheri and Dave were so kind. They invited us to bring our grandson over to see the animals. (Brownie points for me 😊). We will absolutely be staying again. Thank you for everything.

Wonderful farmhouse escape!
Lucky Star was an absolutely wonderful escape for the long weekend! Shari and her husband were marvelous hosts and communication with Shari was great throughout. The house is beautiful and feels huge while also easy to get around, and is amazingly comfortable. On clear nights, the country setting makes for great stargazing and long, relaxing conversations. Everything was spotless and the beds are wondrously comfortable.

A Quiet Respite
Just returned from an enjoyable weekend visiting Lake Anna in Virginia. We rented this adorable little farmhouse just twenty minutes from the lake and had all the comforts of home. Beautiful and quiet farm getaway!
I visited the Lucky Star Farm with my two school aged children for two nights during June, using it as a home base to visit Fredericksburg and Mount Vernon. We left wishing we had at least a week there! The house is cozy and had everything we needed and the property is more beautiful than I can describe. The large yard provided a play space for the kids (we appreciated the yard toys in the hall closet!) and they were entertained endlessly by the activities of the cows in the adjacent pasture. This property is quiet and private and we slept like babies. The beds are very comfortable as well. Shari was easy to communicate with, answered any questions I had, and was kind enough to invite us up to their main farm to see their horses and Highland cattle--which was a big highlight for the kids (and me)! Overall, we 3 agreed we can't wait to come back and stay much longer to fully enjoy this property!

Amazing farm
Easily the best home we have rented for a vacation. Exactly what we wanted in a vacation. Beautiful, clean, comfortable, historic house in the middle of rolling green hills with animals everywhere. We used it as a home base to explore the surrounding little towns and the Shenandoah National Park. Shari and her husband and 3 dogs and countless cows were excellent hosts. The house had everything we needed including very strong air conditioning for those hot Virginia days.We will be back!

Relaxing Country Home
We were in the area for a wedding and stayed at Shari’s charming country Home. She had fresh eggs, OJ, milk, snacks and bread waiting for us when we arrived. The house was supplied with everything we needed. The beds were super comfortable. Lots of bath towels and washer/dryer in home! It was so comfy and peaceful. Great communication with Shari. We will definitely stay again if we are in the area.

Wonderful home with everything you might need!!
Shari and David are wonderful hosts! The house was super clean, had very comfy beds and everything you would need! We stayed for a week at the farm. We have three teenagers and two adults. We had our Easter meal here and plenty of room for all of us! We traveled to DC, Shenandoah National park and Williamsburg. We loved coming back to this quiet and peaceful home!! Shari was available for any questions and even supplied fresh eggs, snacks and essentials for when we arrived! Our family enjoyed our visit!! Thank you!
