The property was very cozy perfect for a little winter holiday get away. There was an abundance of boardgames to play and the hot tub was incredibly well kept. Overall we had a comfy lazy weekend to relax.
Went with some friends (married couples) and really enjoyed the entire property. House was beautiful, fire pit was nice, and the hot tub was great fun. They were incredibly supportive of our doggy guest - food bowls and a great dog gate so that the pupper could enjoy the deck with us. Great weekend trip!
Accurate to the listing. Very nice cabin with all required amenities. Listing said no firewood provided but turned out to be leftover firewood available at property.
Located in a quiet wooded community of Sky Valley within walking distance of Deep Creek Lake. The A-Frame bedrooms and bathrooms are small but adequate for our long weekend with 6 adults and 2 dogs. The cabin is well appointed with all the necessary requirements for cooking, grilling, cable, Wifi, fire pit, great deck and is dog friendly!
We had a great time in a nice cabin. The kids loved the loft and the hot tub was nice. The only issue was that the fireplace smoked the house out when we tried using it both times (yes we verified the damper was open.) It was quite disappointing because we wanted a cabin with a hot tub and fireplace and couldn’t use one of them.
This was our first trip to deep creek Maryland and we cannot wait to go back. Upon arrival we settled into our home for the week. There was plenty of space for my family. And for being a pet friendly home, it was very clean. While there we enjoyed hiking and the beach at the park, mountain coaster at wisp resort, monkey business adventures, mini golf go carts lazer tag., mountain state brewing, lakeside creamery( fantastic ice cream), cabin lodge grill( outstanding Nashville hot chicken sandwhich). The best part for my family was access to the private lakeside dock. We managed to get ans hour or two for two days on one where we enjoyed jumping off the dock and floating in the lake as we watch boats go by. Every night we would play board games and enjoy the sounds of nature in the hot tub.
We were sad to leave but we all cherished the stay there and have new memories.
Thank you.
I would rent this property again. The location was great—-the lake/beach is such an easy walk. The kitchen had a surprisingly large amount of cookware for a rental, really everything I needed for family meal prep. The hot tub was clean and ready.
Also appreciated the pet items (bowls, large crate, treats). Even though this was a pet friendly property, it did not smell and there was no pet hair to be found.
Lots of spare linens and pillows so everyone was comfortable. Child gates large enough to block the deck entrance for pets. I ended up bringing more supplies than we needed—the house pretty much has everything you need! Beds were comfortable. Futon was comfortable. No spiderwebs in evidence!
The property is definitely a more worn than the photos reveal. The downstairs bathroom has seen better days and the shower doesn’t work well. Both bathrooms are teeny-tiny!
But overall the house was clean and well-appointed and the space is super flexible for a group.
We had a great stay! Just a short walk to the lake. The property was so cute! We loved it there. The hot tub was wonderful, except for the neighbors watching us - that is, the deer! We'll be back!
We enjoyed the space and felt like it was a great fit for our families and pets to take it easy all together. The deck and outside amenities were great, and the overall bones of the house were stunning. And, the loft space was a unique nook for reading and relaxing. It was easy to get in and to check out. All that to say, this house really needs a bit of a refresh with furniture and textiles. It felt like all of the furniture had been there for over 30 years and just used to death.
We enjoyed our time at the property, including the bbq and hot tub. The living room is very cozy and it was nice to have the lake nearby for some walks with our dogs.

Cozy long weekend
This is a nice cozy cabin in a beautiful setting. We loved staying here for a long weeekend after Thanksgiving - there was plenty of room for 2 couples and we liked how quiet the neighborhood was to walk around and just relax. Excellent!
Well this is difficult to exactly explain as I am very well travelled due to my job. So I was expecting a cabin in the woods … maybe a little off in cleaning ! But it had spider webs upon spider webs ….. which was of course a item ! I understand that cleaning can miss a few areas but the trampoline hanging in the living room was to say the least a bit extreme ! And as this particular spider web could not support 260 pounds at that moment I was disappointed ! Everything else was good to great but the cleanliness was lacking ! I would still recommend though get a stronger web from the spiders or clean them up ! Again still a good place…..

Nice vacation
Nice to have hot tub
Few minutes walking from the lake
I tried to contact the host forTax issue and got no return
The listing agent assured me there was boat access near the property. Then when I called when we arrived, the agent said to go to the maintenance man to get a key. However, the boat launch is not for guests. I specifically asked about that when I booked because we had a boat. Had to drive 15 minutes to put in and take out. The deck was a mess. We couldn’t find a broom to sweep it off.

Woodsy cabin stay
Cabin was rustic and convenient and fit our needs. Hot tub was very nice. Nice shaded deck, but very dirty with debris because of close trees. Dark wood inside was rustic and made it dark inside. Neighborhood was great and cabin is fairly close to the lake. Screen doors are missing and windows and screens were dirty and sometimes not functional.
The rental process was very simple. The online pictures and descriptions of the property were spot on. The area was beautiful. We saw wildlife every day, mostly deer. The property was very clean and well equipped. We will definitely be back!!

Cozy cabin - missing some amenities
Overall, the cabin was mediocre for a short group stay. When we arrived, the biggest issue was that the two screen doors fell right off the tracks when we tried to enter the cabin. Though we tried to fix them, we had to leave one of the unattached screen doors on the deck for the rest of the trip and keep all doors closed so that bugs wouldn’t come in (we also took photos of the damaged screens upon arrival). The grill didn’t work very well (flame was way too low at its highest setting to even cook meat), but the hot tub was great. Be sure to bring your own cleaning supplies especially Windex and laundry detergent.
One major thing that needs to be changed about this listing is the dock slip. When called to rent a dock slip for our boat (as advertised by this listing), they let us know “the board” had decided renters were not allowed to dock right by the property. We had believed there would be lake access from the cabin, and instead had to drive 20 minutes away to a different dock. This plan worked out fine, but the listing mentions dock slips are available and this is misleading.
Also note that trash needs to be dropped off at a compactor near the manager’s office, but when we called to ask for the office address, no one could give us good direction or even an address. We ended up roaming through the community with bags of trash in our car until we stumbled upon the compactor. Directions for trash drop off should be more clear.
If you don’t plan to spend much time in the cabin and will be mostly outdoors, then I’d recommend this cabin. But I’m not sure that I’d rent it myself again.
