Didn’t Get the Room I Paid For
I booked a double queen room through Expedia, but when I arrived at the hotel, they gave me a room with one queen bed and a sofa bed instead. When I asked about it, the front desk told me that because I booked through a third-party site, they could give me whatever room they had available.
This is unacceptable. I paid for a specific room type and expected to receive what I reserved. The sofa bed was uncomfortable, and it made our stay much less pleasant than it should have been.
I’m disappointed both in the hotel’s attitude and in the lack of consistency between what is advertised and what is delivered. If third-party bookings aren't honored properly, that should be clearly communicated in advance.
I hope Expedia reviews this issue and works with the hotel to prevent this from happening to other travelers..
