Who's in charge?
We were in the area to attend a concert in Chattanooga. We have been through Dalton but never explored the downtown or the local points of interest. We chose to stay here after discovering the fact that the bungalows were right downtown. There are no signs or markings at the address to indicate you are in the correct place. A locked door with a keypad is all you get. We find out by a local that the owner also owns the adjoining cafe. We go in the cafe and the staff acts all aloof that we are inquiring about a bungalow. The young man who comes to help has to call the owner for information. The owner has no record of our reservation. The young man politely asks what amount were we expecting to pay. I showed him my email from Hotels.com and he charged me accordingly. He proceeds to walk us to the door with the keypad and gives us the code. He shows us the room and answers a few questions. He said he would be in the cafe for the rest of the day if we needed anything.
The room was just as the pictures showed. New, modern decor made the room very inviting. We loved the bed and the spacious shower. The only negative was the cooling system kept the living room/ kitchen comfortable but the bedroom too warm.
Upon check out time we returned to the cafe to return the room keys. It was Sunday and the cafe was closed. We returned to the room and left the keys there.
The location was great. We would stay again. We just found it odd at how things were handled.
