Ocean front property.

Location was excellent and very roomy. It isn't as nice as the pictures, could use some TLC. We didn't realize the upstairs is rented out separately and the back yard is shared. Nice having ocean so close and had a seal playing in the water out front.

Tommy Bahama - Perfect View

This was the perfect place to relax. We were there for the 4th of July week and the firework's show from Dana Point was beautiful. 4th of July was a busy day in the community, but the rest of the week was very quiet. The ocean view from here is hard to beat and you basically have a private beach. This is the perfect place to destress.

Family trip

House was good for our family trip but no AC and 100 degrees with only small fans. No dishwasher for our trip was a bummer. Boys couldn’t watch football. The location was great & beach time was the best.

Great trip

We had so much fun. I wish the dishwasher was working and I did not realize this was a shared unit. Also the freezer barely opened and was very loud. Other than that though, we would stay here again and hope to soon!

Amazing

This home had the most beautiful views and was very comfortable. We would recommend this place to anyone. Only downer is there isn’t much beach to play on unless you walk/drive down a bit. The waves in front of home are very aggressive and the beach rocky. We loved leaving the doors and windows open and hearing the ocean all day/night.

Relax, recharge, repeat

We have stayed at this home several times and it fits our family perfectly. Not fancy but nice. We love Beach Road in Capistrano and have been renting there for 50 plus years. The erosion of the beach is sad but still able to enjoy the beach, and waves daily. We look forward to our return again soon.

Beautiful Beachfront Property

We loved this property! It is directly on the beachfront and the patio has stairs taking you down to the beach. The home is spacious and the outdoor patio is magnificent! There is an outdoor fire pit and lots of seating. The beach is quiet and the sunsets were beautiful! Take note: there is a unit above and you can hear every footstep. So if you are a light sleeper, bring earplugs

Overrated pictures.

We loved the location, right on the sand, but the place is not as glamourous as the pictures make you believe. It is a bit run down and some things just don't work. Hopefully the review I gave them will help get some things fixed.

Beautiful home with a view!

Overall, our stay at Tommy Bahama was wonderful. The beds/pillows/linens/towels were very clean and comfortable. The view was absolutely breathtaking. The kids had so much fun playing in the sand and having access to the beach. It was unfortunate that the dishwasher was broken and the freezer was frozen over so it leaked the entire time we were there. We notified Vacasa and they are aware. The Wifi was in and out the entire time we were there - luckily we didn't have to work but it was frustrating when we wanted to watch something. Even with these experiences, we would definitely stay here again. :)

Great location, home needs some work

The proximity to the ocean just cannot be beat! But the house is just ok. The beds were comfortable, but the appliances and furniture are old. The dishwasher is completely broken and hand washing dishes on my vacation is not my idea of fun! The kitchen is not stocked at all for preparing and eating in. There were no spices, hot pads, basics at all. There were only two kitchen towels and no dish rags. We ran out of paper towel, dish soap and garbage bags. Just poorly stocked. The tv is spotty, it kept freezing up. The house could really use a good scrub and update.

Great location

The location is great, the view amazing. Although the furniture needs updating, the beds were comfortable. We enjoyed the view, the fire pit and sound of waves. The property is bigger than anticipated. The only downside was the upper unit occupants. First morning, they were dragging furniture and luggage non stop up and down stairs starting at 6:30am. Very disruptive. We thought our second morning would be peaceful since they left, but nope, another family arrived with little ones running and banging on top of our heads since 6am!! Definitely not the peaceful weekend we were looking for. Maybe upper unit should have a clause to be more respectful and mindful of lower unit tenants! That’s the only reason we might not go back or recommend to friends.

Construction for a view

This home has construction in the back yard. If you want a view of the ocean be ready to have it ruined by this sight. Construction has been going on for months. Vacasa falsely advertised the space and said construction was complete. Also note furniture might be switched around and won't match pictures. The house didn't have enough amenities (soap, toilet paper) for our two night stay. Paying top dollar for a run down place - if you're okay with that stay here. Last, Vacasa customer service is probably the worst.

GOLF WEEKEND

We stayed Nov 9-12 to play golf at a couple local courses & celebrate the Marine Corps Birthday. The check-in process was smooth, place was clean, view was tremendous, and location is perfect. Waves crashing against the sea wall 15' beneath your feet with an ocean view is the perfect setting. Only complaint is, we tried to get a guest in by leaving his name at the front gate. Security wouldn't take it and told us to call the property manager we dealt with. I called the only number I had in connection with this reservation, and she seemed confused but took the name and told me she added it to the list. The gate security said they still showed nothing about it. There is an obvious communication gap there, so we were forced to drive up to the gate, out of the property to pick up our guest, and again to return him to his vehicle parked off property later that evening when he left. The Gate Security was rude and uncooperative, which apparently they're known for. Other than that, great place to stay!

Relaxing vacation spot

This house is lovely and I would very much recommend it. There are three issues though that I think people should know. Number one the gated access to the house can be a bit of an inconvenience. You are only allowed two cars in the complex and they don’t allow for people to come in and unload unless they are on the list. While it is very, nice to have a gated guard, this lead to juggling around for groceries and packing and unpacking. Number two, we’ve stayed at this house before, and there were stairs leading down to the beach. We did not know that there was no access to the beach this time. While it wasn’t a big disappointment, as we could easily walk two houses down and get access to the beach, it was kind of a surprise. Lastly, there is not enough pots, pans, cups or plates in the house. Again very overcome-able but still a bit of a disappointment. Otherwise this house was lovely and I would highly recommend it.

Very disappointing

Sadly, the only thing good about this property is the view, unfortunately we couldn’t enjoy the beach due to the intense surf during our stay. The Kitchen is not stocked well for a group. We had a group of folks who all enjoy drinking wine, with only 3 plastic wine glasses we had to use water glasses our first night until we could go out and obtain the number of glasses needed. The house is in rough shape and needs lots of repair and updates. The front door lock was very troublesome, causing us to be late for a dinner reservation, while we struggled to lock the door. The Wi-Fi was nearly non existent, we all ended up using our cellular data throughout our stay. When I reached out to Vacasa to get assistance, I was twice disconnected and they asked for my number at the beginning of the call in case we were disconnected, but they failed to call me back. Lastly, the noise from the nearby train and kids running around in unit above made for sleepless nights. I cannot recommend a stay at this property.

Beautiful View, That’s all.

Best thing about this property was the view at sunset. There was a loft upstairs above the property that was never mentioned and was occupied. The people staying there can walk through the backyard & it was really strange and awkward having random people walk through our area while we were having dinner. Also the people at the property above can see down into the living room, so if you enjoy your privacy, this is not the place for you. The parking situation is terrible for a 4 bedroom property. The lights in the house are confusing, some switches worked some did not. A lot of light bulbs were either missing or simply not working. Including the stringer outside. The patio furniture in the back was rusted and disgusting. Would be better if they have vinyl or plastic furniture in the back so the salt water doesn’t corrode it. It seems like this place is just need more maintenance. I expected a much nicer place for how much we paid.

Great Place, not sure why ppl are complaining

First off, we stayed here in March of 2024, and yes, there is a new retaining wall and there are no steps down to the beach, yet. From the look of things, there probably will be fairly soon. This didn't stop my kids and us parents from just climbing down the retaining wall to the beach. If you're between the ages of 8 and 58, you can probably just do that. If you have a hard time with that, you can literally walk down the street two houses down to another beach access point, then walk back to be right by the house. So easy. Regarding the upstairs renters, yes their balcony overlooks the back yard, so if you're out by the awesome fire pit, or sunning yourself in the great beach chairs, they'll be able to see you. If the blinds are closed, they won't see you in the house. But gimme a break, if you're in the backyard, literally ANYONE walking by on the beach, or anyone in any of the adjacent houses can see you. Also, yes, the upstairs renters' access to the beach goes through "your" back yard. You might actually have to smile and say "hi" or "Great day for the beach!" and then continue ignoring them after that. We never had to. If you want your own private beach with no one else around, you might just have to rent your own private island! For me and my family, this place was great!

Excited to disappointment

I planned this family vacay to relax and enjoy some quality time. We specifically wanted a beachfront rental which this is. I will list the few pros first Loved the access to the beach right from the patio. Loved that there are 3 full size bathrooms (which looked modern and remodeled ) and accommodate a big family. Beds were comfortable. The house itself is a nice size and does fit comfortably a large family. Cons- all the furniture is very old and wobbly, not enough TV’s, not enough bath towels , no extra blankets so bring a couple if you’re coming with a big family. The kitchen doesn’t have enough pots and pans, not enough paper towels or toilet paper so bring a couple of each with you. Wifi is horrible, we could never watch anything on tv in the living room. I hope owners will take some of this into consideration for the next guests.
