This is my 7th time staying at the Slipway and it doesn’t disappoint. I do miss the supermarket that used to be located downstairs. I love the ocean views, sunsets, breakfast, and convenient access to shops and souvenirs. The restaurants - especially aroma Zanzibar and Thai Cano are delicious and the juice bar is an excellent touch. The Lido lounge and padel courts were a fun addition this year. I also enjoy the spa each time we come. Thank you to the consistent and wonderful staff. Asante!

An exciting village in the middle of the big city.

Had a very nice stay. Its a safe, little haven in the middle of a busy city, close to the water, good restaurants and the boat out to Bongoyo Island. It offers a variety of activitys and shopping, and even a playground for the children. The staff is very helpfull, and nice.

I really enjoyed my stay. I booked it specifically for its location (Sunset, restaurants/bars by the ocean) and I was not disappointed. It's true there is music outside at night but with the AC on, I couldn't hear anything so it's not very high. Breakfast was OK. People were welcoming and accommodating. Overall, I recommend this hotel!

This was my second time at this facility. A mid-week stay was mostly quiet and the staff is great. But the rooms are getting a little dated and 2 1/2 days of no wifi was a big challenge. If my home plan did not have unlited data, I would have had a very difficult time traveling.

This hotel in a colonial style typical of East Africa was just a gem. We were given a nice room, large enough and with all we could wish for. The staff as all Tanzanians were just the friendliest and most helpful, going out of their way to make our stay a delay. We felt cared for and appreciated. When we go back to Tanzania we will go back to Slipway. The area of the hotel offered everything the heart would enjoy on a vacation: Nice walks, good restaurants, little gift shops, clothing shops, cafes etc. Assante.

I stayed in the standard room and the executive room with ocean view. Pros: Convenient location with restaurants, bars, and juice/coffee/tea shops. Live bands at the restaurants at night. The standard room was recently renovated. Cons: Wifi was spotty in the standard room. The air conditioner was installed at an odd spot, the closet was blocking most of the cold air coming out of it. The shower was not properly sealed, water leaked through the gaps. The sofa and the cushions were old and smelly, like they were never washed/cleaned. Both rooms were not ready past the check in time.
