It was great to check into a warm room with the heating on. Dinner & breakfast were delicious. No wifi or phone service in our accommodation, except for in the main building. Location beautiful. Cabin looking old & tired but was clean.

We woke up one morning with the fire going, and we looked out on the lake as snow started to fall. I just don't understand why I have never heard anyone speak about this place. The staff were so lovely, the place is beautiful, and quiet. How grateful we are to have been guests there.

Our cabin was mostly clean apart from a few dust webs that only showed up when the lights were on. All the important surfaces, (benchtop/shower/toilet) were spotless. Bed was comfortable and warm. Lovely lass in the reception/cafe/dining area of the lodge pretty much doing everything as it's 'off season' so very quiet. Had a lovely chat with the owner, Michael, before dinner re his history at the lodge and his signature branded rum, gin, wine etc. The lodge is very welcoming with a warming fireplace, antiques and leather chairs adding to the alpine ambience. Well worth a stay in you are in this area.
