LARGE Mid Century Home - Pool, Hot Tub, Tiki Bar, Bridal Suite, Patio, 4 Acres

Our 1948 Mid-Century vacation home is nestled on 4 acres of beautiful open land. We welcome you to enjoy a unique and authentic experience jumping back in time with themed rooms ranging from Art Deco, Country Cottage, Groovy 1970’s, Vintage Tiki, and classic Mid-Century design. Our home sleeps up to 10 people with 2 Queen Beds, 2 Twin Beds, and 2 Double Sleeper Sofas. We also have 3 full baths and 2 half baths. Beyond having a charming 1950’s kitchen and spacious dining and living areas, we also have a 1970’s themed TV and Game Room stocked with over 30 games and puzzles, an authentic Tiki Bar with a peacock chair, wet bar, and bar supplies, a Children’s Playroom filled with books, toys, and a fort, as well as a Bridal Suite/Dressing Room with an Art Deco vanity that doubles as a bedroom - and outside, a six person hot tub available year-round!

From late Spring through Summer, we have a large 16x40ft pool (guaranteed to be open 5/26 - 9/5, but will do everything possible to have it open well before and after those dates based on weather!), lounge chairs, and outdoor eating areas. Year round, we have a six person hot tub, a wood burning firepit and spacious grounds to explore including a wood bridge and secret nature trail.

Our bathrooms are stocked with shampoo, conditioner, and soap. We have over 100 books throughout the home for guests to enjoy. Our game room has an abundance of vinyl records and games. Our kitchen is stocked with cook/bakeware, cookbooks, and Lenox dish ware. We have 2 smart TVs (one off the kitchen and the other in the family room).

We are located just 15 minutes north of downtown Des Moines and are within a mile of a high end grocery store and shopping complex filled with great restaurants, coffee shops, and boutiques. We believe the Des Moines area is a hidden gem with an abundance of fine dining, antique stores, high end boutiques, breweries, bike trails, the largest skate park in the country, live music, family activities, nature trails, lakes, and farmers markets.

One of a kind property in area

We really really enjoyed this uniquely styled home. Had a little trouble communicating with the host initially but then eventually got that taken care of and had great communication and was able to arrange early check-in and late checkout for a fee. Home is one of a kind, especially in the area And with a pool and hot tub!

A step back in time, so charming!

Such a delightful home. We hated to leave. Each room is so thoughtfully designed. On top of everything it was sparkling clean, cozy bedrooms, fabulous showers, and great pool area, large and well maintained. Quick drive to downtown. 2 min from groceries. Lots of room to either gather as a group or find a quiet little cubby. Loved it!

Perfect for a NYE Game Night

We were absolutely blown away by our experience at Foxcroft. Every inch of the space has been curated with the perfect items. We hosted a couple friends here for a NYE Game Night and multiple times many people threatened to just never leave. The details on the listing are accurate, so I don’t need to provide that info. I’ll instead say, I’ve never felt so naturally welcome in a space. Emily and Brandon have created a home that is also an experience. A place that is comfortable for your family and friends while also providing little bits of wonder. Thank you so much to the folks at Foxcroft for putting something this incredible in the metro!

The house was wonderful - only issue was cleanliness. Several dead bugs on floor and dirty towels from last guest still hanging behind bathroom doors. Other than that everything was perfect!

Incredible Bridal Getaway!

I stayed here with my bridal party for a weekend and had an absolute blast! The owners were so nice, communicative, and helpful throughout the reservation process. The decor and space were so incredible that it felt like a true time capsule vacation. I highly recommend this Vrbo, especially if you're looking for a place to reserve for your bridal shower or bachelorette party.

Unique Retro Design

The house was uniquely decorated. We all loved the attention to detail.We took advantage of the pool and hot tub and fire pit. There were lots of it's spaces where we could gather to play cards. I also appreciated so many bathrooms throughout the home.Check in was very easy and the location was close to many restaurants.I also appreciated having fans. I like sleeping with a fan and I always appreciate when a rental provides them.

Beyond your expectation!

Our stay at the Foxcroft Estate was a delight. From the start of booking to enjoying our stay and the overall hospitality from the hosts, we cannot rave enough. The house is beautiful and clean. While being unique, it is homey and our group would spend days here enjoying the property if we could. Highly recommend staying here whether you are a family, or need a spot for an event, bridal shower, bachelorette party, birthday party, etc. this is the spot!

We had the best time in this home. It was perfect for 7 of us coming together. Owners for sure treat the guests like VIP with snacks/wine/fruit. The decor and attention to MCM detail was the superb! We didn’t end up using the hottub which is my biggest regret.

Wonderful!

Beautiful house, lovingly built and lovingly maintained, with interesting decor - we kept noticing new cool things throughout our stay! We were mostly in the pool, but also enjoyed the fire pit and played games in the 1970s lounge. There were only 4 of us, but the house would still feel spacious with 10 - there are areas for larger groups to gather and plenty of space to split up into smaller groups. We would happily stay again!

Wonderful family vacation

Listing is very accurate. Lots of fun for a family with small kids. We spent most of our time at the pool. There is a great screened in porch to help contain the littles between pool breaks & enjoy meals. We went to adventure land & the outlet mall which is just a 15 minute drive. All basic kitchen and bath items were available. A few items we set up from our 2 year old. We all tried to shower one night and ran out of warm water quickly so learned to split up:) but really wasn’t a problem. Thank you for the wonderful vacation!
