We’ve stayed here many times and always look forward to our week of fun in the sun. This year however, it seems that some attention to details have slipped. For example, the landscape lights weren’t working which makes the walk after dark treacherous. Not far outside our sliding door is the valve box for the sprinklers, and it is a pretty deep and wide hole and therefore a hazard waiting to happen.. Another issue were the gates. We’ve always had the luxury of being in a “gated” community which brings along a sense of safety. Our children have been secure when going to the basketball court or playing tennis because you need a code to enter the gate. The gates were propped open for the majority of our vacation, so anyone could enter the resort. Also, in the laundry room, 1 of the 6 washers and 2 of the 6 dryers were out of order. Finally, our welcome email indicated that Bobby D would be performing on Thursday, so we booked our Pontoon rental for Wednesday so we would be at our condo for the live music - which is a highlight for the week for us. Unfortunately, the info was incorrect and Bobby D was preforming on Wednesday evening instead. It may seem like little things, but we’ve always had superior service at The Islander and have made many trips here with a growing number of families from our home state of Michigan. We have made some great memories at The Islander, and I am hoping that things will improve in the near future otherwise I think we will be picking a different place to continue our family spring break vacations!!l
