“We had a three day stay at Lumina Valley View Monteverde in April 2025.
The house is very spacious, modern and comfortable. It has an amazing gourmet kitchen (love the waterfall style granite countertop!) and a great view with a lovely, vibrant orange sunset. Lovely furnishings and decor. Also ample hot water, AC and strong Wifi. Note that this location is a little far out so not walkable to any amenities.
Our host Glenda, who is a native of Monteverde, was amazing. She made our stay……

“This was a great place if you want to truly feel like you are in the jungle. The last part of the drive was a little scary but we were fair warned, so no problem. From inside the house, we saw a monkey, two Coati’s and out by the car we saw an Agouti and her babies. The house was clean, a few spiders but to be expected in the jungle. We did a load of laundry, they supplied the detergent. There was also coffee provided. You can also order breakfast the night before to be delivered the next……

“To stay here a car is the best way to go—it’s located on a lovely property a bit outside of Santa Elena proper—not walkable to the Cloud Forest and other things we wanted to do, although only a short drive to coffee tours and a nighttime wildlife tour. The house is beautiful in a very contemporary Latin American style. Nice pool, but it was a bit rainy when we were there and sun breaks did not correspond well with when we wanted a dip—but we can’t blame the hostess for that ”

“The name says it all - this is the perfect getaway in the forest for a large group or family (we had 11). The house is multi-leveled with outdoor access to each level. The outdoor stairway is cleverly sheltered by an external roof, which is perfect since it's in the cloud forest and there were frequent mist showers with a gentle warmness from the forest. “Our family loved staying here. The space theme was very fun for our young kids to explore. The location made you feel like you were in the jungle, and we had some bird wildlife sightings from the porch, but is actually very close to the main area of town and all the main activities in the area. “This property was such an experience. It’s not just any day you stay in a yurt! This one was classy, and very tastefully done! Tile floors, gorgeous style, even has a hot tub!! “This land was so beautifully designed and maintained. We were looking for a spot off the beaten tourist hub where we could find quiet, reflection and be in deeper intimacy with the aninate world. It took a bit of effort to locate but we arrived just at sunset.
Completely in awe with the bird life that visited (even the outspoken morning rooster :). And the visit to the river was welcomed. It does require a drive to and from, but if you welcome some time on the veranda watching the birds, you……
