Decent budget stay with great highway access, but shows some quirks
Overall, this MainStay Suites serves its purpose as an affordable, no-frills place to sleep and shower.
Pros:
* Location: Excellent proximity to the highway, making commuting around the area quick and convenient.
* Kitchenette: The stovetop worked perfectly for heating up water and quick meals.
Room & Comfort:
* The room was reasonably clean and acceptable, though a few spots could have used a deeper scrub.
* The bed was average. The pillows are very soft, so I needed about three of them to get adequate neck support.
* Facing the highway meant noticeable road noise during peak traffic hours, so light sleepers may want to request a room on the opposite side.
Quirks & Watch-outs:
* The AC unit didn’t work the first night, but after some tinkering with the controls, it eventually kicked on and worked fine.
* The shower temperature handle is reversed, which took a little trial and error to figure out.
* The in-room coffee pot was dirty, so I skipped using it.
* There was a lingering marijuana odor in the common areas/hallways at times.
Not the worst stay, but far from luxury. If you need a practical, budget-friendly stop near the freeway, it gets the job done.
