Diggers Camp Surf Shack, in the heart of Yuraygir National Park
Welcome to Driftwood, a classic Australian surf shack, tucked away in the heart of Yuraygir National Park.
Our off-grid home is the perfect place to slow down, unwind and reconnect with nature.
Find yourself exploring pristine beaches, snorkelling the natural rock platform, fishing from one of our many rocky points or making the most of the empty surf break out front.
Due to the remote nature of Diggers Camp, our entire community runs off-grid, relying purely on solar power, rain water and septic systems.
Driftwood beach house does not have any air-conditioning, internet, or TV - and that’s part of the charm. Here you can fully switch off and slow down.
Accomodating a maximum of 6 guests, our house setup is perfect for a family, or small groups travelling together.
Our kitchen is small, but mighty, fitted with a gas stove, gas fridge, traditional billy and all of the kitchen bits you might need to comfortably self cater your stay.
We have space for dining inside as well as out on the veranda overlooking the native trees.
After a day at the beach or exploring, our cosy lounge is well stocked with books and games for all ages, providing the perfect space for a laid-back evening.
Driftwood Beach House is an off-grid property, relying purely on solar electricity (with battery), rain water and gas for heating and cooking.
We feel this is part of the charm, however it will require mindful consumption of resources - not leaving lights on, shorter showers etc.
PLEASE NOTE: Our power system cannot handle many modern appliances - coffee machines, air fryers, blenders, hair dryers etc. Charging of laptops and mobiles is ok.
Due to the remote location of Diggers Camp, we are unable to provide a linen service. Guests are kindly asked to bring their own sheets, pillowcases, bath towels, hand towels, bath mats and tea towels.
For your convenience, pillows and blankets are provided.
