“We stayed at this hotel for only about 7 hours as we wanted to be closer to the airport for our very early flight. The hotel was perfect and I would highly recommend staying here. The only downside was that when we went to check in there were only 2 people at the desk, but a flight full of people whose flight had been canceled. “Very nice place to stay. Almost walked past it a few times. The sign on the house is small. Once inside house and everything wonderful. Great location. Tram runs next to house. I live in a large city so this didn’t bother me but white noise may be needed by others. My mom loved staying here ”

“We are a family of 5 with 3 kids under 12. We visited in March and it was very quiet/serene. Portovella has a beautiful view of the Douro. Riverside walk is just several steps down a hill. Photos don’t do it justice because it is so breathtaking in person. The comfort suite was the perfect size with 2 bathroom ensuites and a powder room. View from the suite was incredible. “Beautiful surroundings and room amenities. Staff are very welcoming and helpful. We tried the spa and sauna, which was good for a relaxing vacation. Not many dining options around and we stayed in the hotel restaurant for dinner, A bit expensive than average but affordable. ”
