Peaceful and relaxing location.
The house is located at the end of a shared stone driveway and has a beautiful view across Waneta Lake. My wife and I wanted a house that was close to some of the waterfall hikes, breweries and wineries in the area. We loved our hikes and exploring, but also looked forward to returning to the house in the secluded and peaceful setting. Each morning we sat in front of the large windows overlooking the lake and watched as daylight slowly started and the birds began to fly up and down the lake.

Amazing NY trip
Joy was great to work with - she answered all our questions and met us when we arrived. The cottage was a perfect location to all the things we wanted to do in NY. Her place was one of the cleanest we've stayed in as well. And the view is beautiful!

Lovely stay
My husband and I spent 4 nights here. Lake view was beautiful and the space was very clean. We had a lovely time exploring Watkins Glen, Letworth, and just relaxing at the lake. Joy was very communicative and checked in to make sure we had everything we needed or provide recommendations.

Cottage is kept well and very clean. Communication was very good. This place is near cities of Hammondsport, Penn Yan, Watkins Glen, and Ithaca. Don't forget to see the amazing falls/lakes of the area. I would rent this cottage again.

Panoramic views
My fiance and I stayed here for a week and throughly enjoyed ourselves. Whether just being in the house overlooking the lake, swimming in the lake or traveling to the many close, local venues we felt like we truly experienced the finger lakes. Joy was always available to help with anything; the house or local attractions. I'd recommend this rental to anyone. The view are unbeatable.

A Perfect Getaway

Family Vacation
My husband, 2 boys, and myself had an amazing family vacation at the cottage. We swam, fished, had fires (with smores obviously), played games, paddle boarded, and generally just enjoyed sitting in the Adirondack chairs which were very comfortable on the deck over the lake anytime of the day. We also explored some of the area's wineries with favorites being Weiss and Barnstormer, went hiking at Watkin's Glen gorge and Taughannock Falls, and enjoyed too many breweries to name! The cottage itself was very clean and had a well outfitted kitchen. It was very open and airy with great views of the lake. Wasn't a big deal for us, but you do need to bring your own sheets/towels and drinking water (water itself is fine for showering etc, just has sulphur taste/smell that you don't want to consume much of). Joy communicated with us very well even before our stay answering all our questions and during out stay gave us some great recommendations. I have three recommendations for future guests. The first is that there is a Dollar General store just down the road that is very convenient for forgotten items, food, etc (or bribes for your kids when you take them to wineries all day). The second is to hit up the Waneta Lake Boathouse restaurant. They don't have a sign on the road, but food (pizza especially), drinks, atmosphere, and service was great although check their hours ahead of time. The third is that firewood is easy to get at any number of near roadside stands ($3-5 per bundle).

I’m glad you and your family had a great vacation at the lake. There should be no sulfur smell to the water. An adjustment must need to be made to the water softener system. Thank you for pointing it out!

Beautiful Lake Views and Great Location
We enjoyed our week long stay. This comfortable cottage has a nice open plan with full length windows overlooking beautiful Waneta Lake. The boathouse deck was also a nice feature. The pictures show a true representation of the property. We also enjoyed the location as nearby attractions were 15 to 30 mins. away. Joy made communication and check in very easy.

We had a very relaxing stay at Joy's cottage which was tucked amidst the trees, with a panoramic view of Lake Waneta. The cottage was immaculate and Joy's attention to detail in terms of providing the guests with all the amenities was very thoughtful and appreciated. Just shows how super efficient she is as a host. Fantastic weekend getaway
We had an amazing visit on a beautiful October weekend when the fall foliage was at it's peak. Just sitting on the deck and taking it all in was so relaxing and rejuvenating. The view from inside was just as nice. The house was open and airy and immaculately clean and just 15 minutes from the charming town of Hammondsport which could easily be right off the set of a Hallmark movie!

Gorgeous view of lake and spotlessly clean!
I walked into this beautiful property and felt serenity and warmth. The huge windows in the living area provide a panoramic view of the lake by day, and by night the moon with its long reflection on the lake. The view from the patio was even more gorgeous. The outdoor table and plentiful chairs were very comfortable. The chairs on the side patio were perfect for my aging back. The host responded quickly to my queries, and was very friendly when I met her. The house was amazingly clean and nicely decorated. The queen beds were firm and comfortable. I will come back to this perfect getaway.

A great girls' winery weekend
I can't say enough about the cottage or the owner Joy...both were great! The cottage is just as wonderful as it looks in the pictures and the views are spectacular. Awesome Lake Front Weekend Getaway
Was coming up on my 40th birthday, and after two years of covid causing little in the way of family vacations, I decided to do a short weekend getaway some place quiet, and peaceful. Thankfully I stumbled upon this lake house, because it was perfect. Our family loved it so much they are already asking about when we get to go back. Location is beautiful, the lake is amazing and the house has all the features to make it the pefect lake house getaway. We'll be booking again!

Sweetest cottage in a great location! Love this place!
My husband and I rented this cottage for a last minute fall getaway and it was so much better than we expected! The cottage was so cozy and clean. And it was so relaxing looking out the wall of windows at the unobstructed views of the lake. The lake was perfect for kayaking and the location was close to many different hiking areas and waterfalls. It was also in close proximity to many different wineries. Joy was amazing to work with for the rental, she promptly responded to all of my questions and was so gracious and accommodating when we had some unexpected car trouble on our way to the cottage. We would absolutely rent this place again and highly recommend it! Thanks for sharing this special place Joy!

Beautiful Camp
I rented this camp initially so my wife and I could get away for a long weekend. My wife is a school teacher and ultimately was not able to get the time off of school she thought she would with the crazy COVID 19 school schedules. After it was apparent that she wouldn’t be able to get the time off I nearly tried to cancel our booking and then my Muskies Inc. Club announced a tournament that they were going to try to run (their 1st since the pandemic began). I held off on cancelling and we used the camp as home base for Muskie fishing all weekend. It went great, we won the tournament and had a great camp to call home for 3 days. The host is close by and was able to meet me upon checking in to make sure that I didn’t have any questions. If you need a clean and beautiful camp on Waneta Lake in the heart of wine country this is the place for you.

Just what we needed...
The cottage and its location are superb. 15 minutes in any direction can take you to wineries, adorable towns, and other lakes. Being right on the lake was so relaxing and the sunsets were amazing. The property is tranquil with all the amenities to feel like home. The wall of windows in the main living space gave panoramic views of the lake. Highly recommend.
