Enjoy this 5 bedroom / 3 bath getaway with elevated views of the Animas Valley. The property is perfectly located only 1 minute to the new hot springs, 20 minutes to Purgatory Resort, 1 minute to Dalton Ranch golf course and 10 minutes to downtown Durango.

Access miles of hiking and biking trails right out the backdoor as the house is secluded and surrounded by the San Juan National forest on 2 sides.

This house is great for families and large groups and is even equipped with a game room and bunk beds for the kids. The house is two floors which allows for privacy for multiple families/groups under one roof. Please note, you must be able to climb stairs as the main living area and kitchen are upstairs, which allows for beautiful, elevated views :)

The home also has many new improvements including: Central AC/Heating, backyard patio, remodeled bathroom downstairs and new driveway (steepness was slightly reduced and compact gravel added for traction).

Pleases note, even with the enhancements the driveway is still fairly steep and you must have 4WD/AWD during Winter months.

We stopped for a couple hours in Silverton for quick bite to eat and shop. Silverton, CO reminded us of our recent inner passage cruise that stopped in Skagway, Alaska.

Having lived in Durango in the 90’s, I knew that I’d like to stay just north of town as we wanted to spend some time in Durango and also at Purgatory. This was the perfect location! House worked out great for the seven of us. Large family area, comfortable bedrooms, and cool patios all along the outside. Kyle made sure that we were enjoying ourselves. Highly recommend!

We enjoyed how it was a little north of town in the tall pine trees. We used both patios and tables for relaxing, the dinner table inside had abundant space for all of us. We rented electric bikes and rode all over; rode the mountain coaster at Purgatory, enjoyed the drive to Ouray and spend the day there. Overall, the house and stay topped off each and every day. SIDE NOTE: The owner found out than my wife had passed away in between booking and our visit... and went above and beyond in showing their condolences. Thank you guys so much!! We'll be back!

Perfect home for the whole family!!!!

This home had everything we needed from for our group of 11 which ranged from 1 year old through 75. Kids loved the hikes up the mountain from the back yard. Shared Thanksgiving dinner with three Does dining outside. The owner provided an open line of communication throughout the whole visit . The property description was pvery accurate.

10 of us stayed for a weekend wedding. Loved it. Didn’t get to spend much time there, but everyone was comfortable and there was plenty of room for me an and lots of parking. The owner got back to me within an hour when I had a question.

Place was great! Location was a bit closer to town than I anticipated, and that was helpful. Hot air balloons in the valley on our departure day! Would suggest extending the handrail all the way to the top of the stairs (gramma kind of wiped out), more dish towels, and warmer light bulbs :). Would love to come back again, thanks!

Perfect Get Away for Family

Kyle was kind, responsive and accommodating throughout booking and during our stay. His place was perfect for our family of 14. One daughter stated it was by far the best VRBO she had been in…clean and lovely with excellent decor, comfy beds, beautifully folded towels, plenty of extras for our large group. The view was awesome, especially since it was snowing. It was like being in a Hallmark Christmas movie, according to another daughter. Needless to say, we’d stay there again. Thank you Kyle for your flexibility and for providing a special place.

Me and my family stayed two nights here. Check in is late, at 4:30 which was tough because it starts getting dark early. When we arrived the driveway is very steep and nothing was done to it, no plow or no salt, even with four wheel drive vehicles it was a challenge getting up it, and getting down is even worse because the end of the driveway is on a busy road, so sliding down it was not very fun! The parking area is all ice, it was very difficult to unload luggage and dangerous. The views are great and location is very good, it's in a safe location. However, the interior had issues, There really is not a dining room so a large group cannot have dinner together. There is a large dining table upstairs that is placed in a hallway next to the living room, so only two sides of the table were accessible, the other two sides are up against walls and cannot fit anyone. We ended up having some of our family eating dinner in the living room. Upstairs is quite small for a large group. There is a game room upstairs in a loft area but one arcade game was broken, the air hockey table was thrown in the closet in pieces, the futon legs were broken and not useable. Nothing like the pictures on the website. The three downstairs bedrooms were very nice and accommodating as well as the two upstairs bedrooms. Check out time is early at 10:30 and the cleaners showed up before 10:00 to get started, so we had to rush out the door.

We had an excellent time during our Durango vacation. The house accommodated our large group well and Kyle was a very responsive host, who answered all questions in a very timely manner. This property worked out perfectly for a long weekend family gathering in Durango, CO. Nice common area with living room and kitchen, and comfortable bedrooms. A clean and tidy house. Owner was very responsive to a few questions prior to our arrival. We will likely stay here again.

Wonderful Durango!

Totally enjoyed our stay! House was perfect for our needs. Any minor problems were handled immediately. Had a problem with one of the game tables failing on my granddaughter because it apparently was broken. But would definitely stay here again!

GORGEOUS PROPERTY

Property is absolutely beautiful! Scenery couldn't be more picturesque. The house was super well stocked and had everything we needed. Any small issues we had were promptly addressed and the owners were extremely responsive and accommodating. All of the recommendations in the binder for food and activities were spot on. Would definitely recommend to others and would rebook!
