Great views and staff was lovely. Only thing I would say is to have better bread selection and to fix the coffee issue where it spilling coffee side ways instead of down pour to cup. Creating lot of mess.

Beautiful grounds, pools, & beach. Very nice buffet breakfast included. Meal plan is expensive, but there are many nice seafood / Italian restaurants on the beach promenade 1.5 km south ( an easy walk or quick taxi ride). The beach is lovely with great swimming once you wade beyond the shallow sand bar 25 m from shore. Unfortunately a naval facility on the south border patrols their fence and prohibits Long Beach walks on their shore, but tourists had no problem walking the beach Northward after wading around a fence on that side. Overall - an excellent resort.

Excellent view from the room and the definitely worth the price. The staff are very helpful and polite. Dining options are limited in the hotel and it takes a bus ride to get to Duress for a decent option other than the hotel to eat.

Sol Tropikal was a nice spacious hotel to stay at. The bathroom was very nice, extra large bed and a massive balcony. The room came with a large sofa as well. The cleaners are very good and mopped the floors everyday. Generally very nice staff and atmosphere. I would say a good family friendly hotel. Easy short walk/access to pool and beach. Adult and child pool very good water level. Very enjoyable for all age. Clean beach and everything well maintained, would 100% recommend. Breakfast was very basic we only had it 2 days out of the 6 day stay as it wasn't something we would want to eat, wish they had more authentic items like borek or different. Just a small variety of basic stuff so not interesting for adults or kids. Therefore didn't eat at the hotel at any time. Outside there is local shops and restaurant (halal) but we chose to travel around Durres for restaurants. There is no porters at this hotel therefore expect to deal with your own luggage, they did help us as we had two young children in prams which was nice of them. No iron in the room but we asked house keeping and they gave us one which was very good. Reception is in a different building to the actual room we stayed at. It is located around 5 mins away with no staff in the building, so each time you need to go to reception you have to travel to another building. Generally very good.

We booked an all inclusive but there was no all inclusive service provided. Meals were very smal with little options or variety mostly cold when served. There were no activities ongoing through the day . The gym also had old non working equipments. The staffs were nice and friendly esp the cleaning staff, very kind and helpful.

I stayed for a week in Sol tropikal. Overall I like the cleanliness of the rooms however the staff seemed a bit serious and the hospitality is not that good. I liked the staff in the restaurant they were very friendly tho. The bathroom every time we take a shower in it it leaks and leaves the floor full of water so that needs some fixing.

Comfortable stay,beach was better than Durres standard as it was cleaned and fenced off. Towels were a bit of a hassle, a couple of hours went walking to the reception and getting the response that there will be towels in 10minutes. A better solution would be to have the towels at the pool. The food was ok, would not want to stay more than the 5days we were there though,the kids got really tired of pizza,pasta and burgers as they did not appreciate the other food. We almost always found something that was good on the buffet. Also would appreciate if icecream at the pool were included in all inclusive.

I recently enjoyed an amazing four-night stay at this hotel, and I can't recommend it enough! From the moment we arrived, the staff, especially at the reception, were incredibly welcoming and attentive. The swimming pool and private beach exceeded my expectations, providing a perfect oasis for relaxation and fun. To top it off, we were pleasantly surprised with an upgrade to a full sea view room in celebration of my brother's birthday, complete with a lovely fruit platter as a welcome gesture. Waking up to that breathtaking view every morning was truly a highlight of our trip! I must add the entertainment team made the evenings one to look forward to with their goofy and entertaining performances! The hotel's location is perfect, offering easy access to main roads, making it convenient for exploring the area. Overall, this was a fantastic experience, and I look forward to returning in the future!

Overall the hotel was nice, but for rooms that are only a few years old they are poorly maintained and need better cleaning. The reception didn't accept American Express and they also didn't accept digital cards for tap-to-pay so you needed to have the physical card which was another inconvenience. The pool was kept clean, the beach was very busy on weekends and nice and quiet on the week days. The beach condition was kept clean but it would be great to have better facilities like a beach bar. Overall 4/5 for a hotel in Albania. I hope to see more improvements and more competition in the coming years.

One adult with 2 children. Had 2 small bottles of water in the room. Upon asking for more water to take to the room, i was informed i would need to pay for this. Not great when i could ask for milk for my tea for free. I looked in the room menu for the fridge there was no pricing for water so not sure how this has come about. Food options weren't that great but ok. Not hot but warm at times not sure if the options had been seeved earlier in the day and kept for supper time. Unfortunately you're not able to watch the tv full screen as it keeps reverting after a minute or 2 to a smaller screen neither can you cast your phone to watch a program. The staff were always smiling, front of house were charming and a bit of a shame that we went end of season so not much entertainment.

The hotel is very nice with a lot of amenities . The daily cleaning service can be a bit better as there were still some areas not well cleaned during the stay. If you are going in summer bring mosquito spray as there are alot of them in the evening coming into your room . The beach in this hotel is amazing and not so crowded , swimming pool is topnotch and breakfast was nice . There arent many restaurants around if you want to eat out , you need to walk a bit down to lane . The hotel restaurants are great but a little expensive compared to outside which is normal. We made the horrible mistake of forgetting our passport at the hotel and thankfully the staff quickly recovered it from the room and headed off to a trusted taxi company ( nova taxi) which then delivered to the airport in time for departure. Thank you Sol Tropikal staff

We had a wonderful stay at Sol Tropikal in Durrës. The entire team was extremely polite, friendly, and always helpful. My stay at Sol Tropikal was overall good, but there are a few things that could definitely be improved. The food was nice and tasty, especially the beef, pasta and panna cotta. I enjoyed most of the meals, although sometimes the food was more warm than hot. It would be better if the chefs could make sure the food stays hot enough during serving. The rooms were neat, tidy and comfortable. Housekeeping did a good job keeping everything clean throughout my stay, and the balcony area was nice to relax on. One thing I struggled with was communication with some of the staff because many of them were not able to speak English well, so I didn’t really find the staff very engaging. I was also disappointed with the water situation. I had two bottles in my room when I arrived, but nobody explained that I was supposed to keep and refill them. I assumed fresh bottles would be provided. When I asked reception for another bottle of water, I was told guests only get two bottles and that I should buy water from the lobby shop instead. Considering I paid for all inclusive, I honestly felt disappointed that they couldn’t provide one extra bottle, especially since I would have reused it for refills afterwards. Having stayed at another Melia hotel before, I personally didn’t feel this one matched the same standard. Overall the stay was okay and I would rate it 7/10.

We enjoy staying at this hotel, but we encountered air conditioning issues in both our first and last rooms. In our first room, the air conditioning stopped working after a day, there was no telephone, and each twin bed had only one pillow. After waiting for over an hour, the hotel moved us to another room, where everything was fine. Also, the room was not properly cleaned—the area near the toilet had a strong urine smell upon arrival, and there was visible black dirt in the sink. Later, we decided to book an extra night since our flight was at midnight. While checking out and checking back in went smoothly, we once again faced air conditioning problems in our final room. Although a telephone was present, there was no cable to connect it to the line. Since we planned to be out all day and leave at 9 PM, we didn’t raise these issues further. When checking out, we informed the receptionist about the air conditioning and telephone problems of Room 1115, as they could be an issue for future guests. We strongly recommend the hotel inspect the air conditioning and telephone functionality in the older building and improve cleaning standards to enhance the overall guest experience.

Stora poolen är inte skött ordentligt, algblomning och hala plattor när man skall gå trappan ner till poolen, Vi hade inte all inclusive men köpte lite mat och dryck i baren, kvaliten var usel och drinkarna som kostar 900 lek bara blandas med koncentrat, Aktiviteter som skedde på området var bra men inget SCHEMA när , var och vilka aktiviteter som skulle ske, det hade varit lätt för dem att sätta upp en lapp i baren för hela veckan, I vanlig ordning så paxar folk alla solstolar runt poolen men många syns inte till på hela dagen utan kommer och går som dem vill men solstolen är blockerad… Är man intresserad att äta på annat ställe eller ta en drink så kan man räkna med 1.5 km promenad, Finns inget runt hotellet, det hade varit smidigt att gå på stranden till andra ställen men då hotellet har en privat strand så är det stängsel ner till vattnet som hindrar en trevlig promenad längs strandkanten, ist får man gå längs vägen på baksidan av hotellet på en smal trottoar med livet som insats då ingen kör under 100km/h på dessa smala vägar, restaurangerna 1.5 km bort samt strandpromenaderna var magiska, finns massa att hitta på som tivoli och massor av bra barer och restauranger, Huvudrätter från 600 lek och drinkar för 450 lek RIKTIGT gjorda och välsmakande.
