This cabin was a special experience for our party of 10. We had a sibling reunion and the cabin was exceptional. Very clean, beautiful remodeled kitchen and 3 baths. Great coffee bar and extra fridge for drinks. Beds very comfortable with quality linens and pillows. The decor is a retro modern cabin decor that made it cozy and beautiful. Three gas fireplaces. Property owner great with communication and addressing issues. Had good pizza across the street (Heid’s) and the road outside the property was perfect for morning walks and deer sightings. Honey Bear was a favorite restaurant- good burgers at Smugglers. This was the best rental we have ever had.

Winter Family Getaway

Dollar Lake Retreat was the perfect spot for us to stay for a Christmas week of family fun. The large kitchen with its fireplace and long table was the gathering place every morning and evening for us to share time together. The views of dollar lake were a beautiful and ever changing winter landscape to enjoy. Our hosts took care of everything down to the smallest detail, and even decorated the house with Christmas Trees. We will definitely be back!!

Fall Stay

My girlfriends and I stay in Eagle River every fall. Angie and Kevin’s Dollar Resort so far is out favorite. As moms trying to relax the cleanliness and decor at this resort really made us feel like we were being treated to luxury. Hope to go back next year with better weather conditions to really take advantage of the lake and fire pit area. Lovely place.

Week of Relaxation

The Dollar Lake Retreat is an amazing Northwoods getaway that gives you all of the traditional Northwoods feels combined with all the modern conveniences of a 5 star cabin. Dollar Lake is a beautiful quiet lake filled with great fishing, swimming, and water sports. The natural woods are filled with deer, birds, and trees that fill the air with fresh pine. This was an unforgettable week for our entire family!

Dollar Lake Retreat is a stunning, unique property that is unlike any vacation property.

Not a detail was missed in decorating and preparing this home with care and thoughtfulness. The guest was number one in all of the decisions made. Cleanliness, comfort, views, privacy, and enough cooking and bathroom utensils to make you feel as if you are in your own home. The inside and outside of this property is well lit (when needed). Nothing was missed from easily functioning TV, phone chargers everywhere, (again, if needed). A beautiful outdoor fire pit, along with three i door fireplaces with one in the kitchen, provide a sense of warmth throughout your fall and winter stay. Cant say enough about this property.

Perfect Family Getaway!

Dollar Lake Retreat was the perfect get away for our extended family, adults and young children included. The spacious home on the lake attracted us to book the property for a week, and when we were arrived we admired the design detail and cleanliness in each and every space! The kitchen blew us away- it was beautiful and stocked with everything we needed- top notch quality everywhere! The kids had a blast jumping off the floating dock and playing ping pong in the screened in porch. When we had a couple of rain days, we still had fun playing games and watching the rain fall outside the large windows. Angie and Kevin were great communicators before and during the trip! They had a personable approach to hosting us. We will definitely be back and recommend the property to friends and family!

Cozy & clean cabin retreat

Angie & Kevin have created the ultimate Northwoods getaway. Upon arrival it is notably well cared for and CLEAN. It was easy to relax and feel at home with clean surroundings. The whole cabin was stocked with all amenities we needed and then some (tools for making craft cocktails & fancy coffees for example) The chefs kitchen with large windows to view the lake is a center point of the home where our family enjoyed many laughs around the table and kitchen fireplace. Kevin & Angie worked hard to keep the ice on the lake cleared to create an ice rink. Our family enjoyed skating every day during our stay. The whole cabin is aesthetically pleasing with so much character and high end comforts. Our whole experience was a five star rating and would recommend this cabin to everyone. It’s a private location, but only a short distance to downtown and local restaurants.

A true Northwoods gem

We enjoyed an amazing winter weekend with some lifelong friends at the Dollar Lake Retreat. We found Angie and Kevin to be gracious hosts who went above and beyond to ensure our stay was both comfortable and enjoyable. Their home is not only tastefully decorated, but wonderfully appointed with no detail missed. It's also spotlessly clean and well stocked. We visited during an exceptionally cold weekend, but we still found plenty to keep us busy - a snowy walk on Dollar Lake Rd, lunch and shopping in downtown Eagle River, dinner at a local supper club, lounging on the sectional watching the Packers game and Yahtzee and cards by the fire. We were so sad to see our stay come to an end - we're already planning our return. Next time we may bring our adult children along - there's plenty of room for all!

Paradise

If you want the best of the best with the most wonderful caring hosts, this is the place for you. We stayed in December of 2024 and it was cold and icy but... with 3 fireplaces one even in the kitchen we were so comfortable. A great little bar/restaurant just across the street is great and the lakeview even frozen is amazing! In fact, the owners were scraping the lake to make a real ice skating rink for future winter rentals too! It is absolutely perfection, comfortable beds, heaters that actually work in the baths so you won't freeze and a kitchen everyone could only dream of. If you have needs, they are there in a jiffy if you need restaurant or things to do advice too! A big giant tv in the game room and the laundry machines are big and top of the line! We loved out stay here, best rental we've ever rented and again, you could not have better hosts and the place was immaculate! Enjoy! We sure did!

Warm memories at Dollar Lake Retreat

Our family travels to the Wisconsin Northwoods every year before school begins. Three families gathered together at Dollar Lake Retreat, and we couldn't have been any happier with our stay. The amount of water sport activities happily left us with no down time. However, when we did have a bit of rain, we had ample games and indoor delights to keep us busy...not t o mention a boat house ping pong table! We gathered around the long, beautiful dinner table on more than 1 occasion to share a meal cooked in the stunning kitchen - boundless amenities included. The hosts were so responsive and accommodating - reiterating the fact that we're on vacation, so no need to worry about anything. It truly was a blissful retreat from start to finish. We'll be returning next August!

Beautiful, functional, and comfy

This property is lovely! Everything was spotlessly clean. The house is very spacious with great views of DollarLake. There’s a really nice pier overlooking the lake where you can sit and watch wildlife or get a great view of sunsets and stars. The shore is sandy, so it would be ideal for swimming. Indoors, the kitchen is stocked with dishes and pans that looked brand new, as did all the appliances. There are several gas fireplaces to add warmth and ambience. The bedding was soft and comfy, that bathrooms were stocked with shower gel and shampoos. The decor is beautiful with warm wood paneling, beautiful wallpapers, and great artwork throughout the house. It’s almost impossible to describe all the amenities and fine touches that the hosts have provided. If you have a chance to stay here, do it!

I can't give enough stars! Kevin and Angie thought of every detail to make our stay perfect. I love feeling like you are truly in the North Woods while simultaneously being spoiled with every modern comfort you can possibly need. The kitchen is better stocked than my home kitchen and the table is a great place to gather for family games. This is my 3rd stay at Dollar Lake and I can honestly say that there is no such thing as an off-season or a bad time of year to enjoy it. The weather during my latest stay was not ideal, but that only made the inside cozier and gave us more reason to gather for games, pizzas, and wine. Morning coffee in the living room, in front of that picture window, is the most perfect and peaceful way to start your day. Cozy blankets and comfy furniture invite laziness and snuggles.

Heavenly Week at Dollar Lake Retreat

Our entire family of 12 enjoyed every minute at Dollar Lake Retreat. We spent lots of time in the living room, the kitchen, and the game room -- as well as outdoors! The living room and game room -- as well as the bedrooms -- have the total Northwoods Wisconsin feel to them. (We have spent a lot of time in Wisconsin over the decades.) My husband and I both pronounced the kitchen the most well-provisioned kitchen we have ever seen! Everything we could possibly have sought when cooking, serving, and cleaning up was there. What beautiful space! And we all appreciated the separate refrigerator/beverage bar. Angie and Kevin are perfect hosts -- helpful and available but not intrusive. I really appreciated the professionalism and accuracy of their website; in the months leading up to our stay, I visited it dozens of times. The reality matched my expectations perfectly. Wonderful stay in a wonderful place!

Unforgettable week at Dollar Lake

This property is amazing. Beautifully decorated, stocked with everything you need, tons of space for a large group to feel comfortable. We had an amazing week with my parents, siblings and families vacationing together for the first time in over 20 years! There is so much thoughtful attention to detail throughout the house. From the decor (all the games and books you need) to the amenities (washer and dryer, soaps, USB chargers in every room, night lights in hallways, etc.) it was so easy to stay here and so enjoyable. The lake is so nice! Sandy bottom, easy entry for small kids, plenty of water toys and activities. The fire pit was a delight to use with plenty of chairs and lovely outdoor lighting. Everyone enjoyed a few games of ping pong and bags in the screened in porch. Loved that we didn’t have to bring beach towels or life jackets. We truly could have shown up with just our clothes and not needed anything! Our hosts, Angie and Kevin, were so helpful, responsive and kind! We even found a Sheboygan connection between our families :-)

Luxury in the North Woods

Dollar Lake Retreat is the most beautiful rental in the northwoods. It's an amazing, perfectly curated, luxury stay for up to 14 guests. Our family included 3 preteens who loved the huge game/entertainment room where we enjoyed games, cards, football on the big screen, and karaoke! The adults took full advantage of the huge gourmet kitchen. It was the perfect place to cook amazing meals together and feel like we were being spoiled. We loved the coffee station and beverage center - perfect for our budding mixologist. The bedrooms are so beautiful and comfortable. It was hard to pick one! The bathrooms were equally amazing - they have everything that you need. The kids loved the loft sleeping area. So cute, and super comfortable! Angie and Kevin are amazing hosts. They have truly thought of everything! The outdoor spaces are beautiful, and it's a perfect environment for relaxing. Three fireplaces inside and a Solo stove outside ensure that you are always cozy. I wish we could have stayed even longer, and we can't wait to go back!

Northern Nirvana!

So you may have read several reviews about this house and are wondering if it is as spectacular as everyone says it is ... can it really be that good? And I’m here to tell you, in the words of Elaine Benes on Seinfeld, “oh, it be!” Many times, rental listing pictures look much better than the actual home – not in this case! This place is the real deal and even more breathtaking in person. From the view of the lake & sunsets out of the massive picture windows, to the eclectic mix of modern convenience & midcentury vintage-y up north cabin design, to the fireplace in the cozy vibes kitchen, to the fabulously clean everything … no detail was overlooked. We’ve rented homes and condos in America and Europe. Never before have we enjoyed a rental where the homeowners anticipated our every possible need even before we actually thought of them! The attention to detail is unmatched and allowed us to immediately feel at home, at ease, welcome and relaxed. The owners have lovingly curated an environment full of personality by combining many unique and ‘found’ design elements – an environment that facilitates conversation, connection with each other and nature, contemplation, rest, recharging and all the fun things living on a lake entails. We are so grateful to have found our ‘up north nirvana’ - can’t wait to return! Thank you, Angie, Kevin and Lauren - you are such a kind & generous family to open this special home to others who share your appreciation of this magical place.

Perfection

I may or may not be a bit of a diva when it comes to vacation rentals, hotels, etc. So when my husband said he wanted a getaway in the North Woods of Wisconsin...I started looking for a place that would meet his wish list (fishing, fire pit, lake views, more fishing) and my overly discerning nature. It only took me three years, but I finally found the place!! Dollar Lake Retreat is perfection. It’s on a serene, private lake, where the house has its own pier, and my husband was able to walk out every morning with his fishing rod and catch fish. As for me…I loved that the whole house has been newly renovated and was immaculate when we arrived. Beautifully updated kitchen and bathrooms with everything you might need, and the entire house is so user friendly. Even the light switches are labeled and organized. Stocked linen closet, stocked kitchen (utensils, glassware, etc). They even had a separate freezer with chilled beer tumblers! The views are spectacular. The fire pit was wonderful. The décor in the home is wonderfully stylish and comfortable. When we arrived, there was even a bottle of champagne that my girlfriend had arranged for me, and the DLR hosts were kind enough to facilitate getting it there and prepping an ice bucket and flutes on behalf of my friend. Attention to detail abounds. Can’t say enough good things about it, and that is coming from someone who’s embarrassingly critical. But hey, I know my faults and my patience paid off! We can’t wait to return.

Amazing week at Take to the Lake Cabin

The Take to the Lake cabin home on Dollar Lake in Eagle River was an extraordinary vacation / reunion venue for our families. Accommodating 14 people in 5 bedrooms with three baths, several living rooms (with fireplace) and a fully appointed chef’s kitchen allowed us to be together and provided for privacy as well. I enjoyed the best VRBO beds I’ve ever experienced. The home was immaculately clean. There was a full size washer and dryer available in the home. The collection of games and bedding was well beyond our expectations. We enjoyed seeing deer close by from the large picture windows and listened to crooning loons. The home is nestled in pine woods right on Dollar Lake. Outside there is a fire pit (with chopped wood) and seating to enjoy it and the sunsets. There is an unattached screen building right off the house with a ping pong table and all the life preservers and yard games you could want. There is a pier into the lake with a raft a short swim away. Many water crafts were made available to us: paddle boards, kayaks, a pedal boat, a row boat with a trolling motor, and the giant floating loon. We also took advantage of the rental pontoon with a giant tube to pull behind the boat. We only left the compound a couple times for bike rides around the lake and to near-by national parks or for ice cream in town. Excellent access to WIFI allowed a couple of us to creep away for an essential call and then rejoin the up-north fun immediately afterwards. Our hosts were beyond accommodating! They welcomed us, checked in on us via text and provided training on the use of the pontoon. This home provided us with the perfect place for our families to spend a week together. We will take advantage of the offer to return again next year!

We loved this cabin!!

We loved our stay! Everything was perfect. We had everything we needed and lots of space for the 12 of us!! The kitchen had everything including the huge table and chairs, to enjoy many games and family dinners and breakfasts around it. We hope to be back next test year!

The Perfect Spot for a Girls Getaway

We rented Dollar Lake Retreat to get away with some girlfriends! There were 7 of us and it was the absolute perfect winter spot. We love that the house can be the destination itself, but it's also 5-10 minutes from town with so many things to do. We enjoyed the hot tub, snowshoed around the lake, watched the dear out the window with our morning coffee, played games, cooked good food and enjoyed the beautiful kitchen space and SO much more. The details of this beautiful spot are our favorite part. Angie and Kevin have thought of everything. We cannot recommend Dollar Lake Retreat enough in all seasons!! Seriously, grab your favorite people and book a few nights. You won't regret it!!

Amazing Northwoods Haven!

We LOVED our stay at Dollar Lake Retreat! It's a dream of a home away from home in the North Woods: perfectly cozy AND spacious. We spent lots of time at the big kitchen table playing games and lingering over meals near the fireplace. We loved the vintage decor and all the cozy nooks with cushions, blankets, good books, and chat packs at every turn. The beds were super comfortable, and we really appreciated the cotton sheets. Even the weather was heavenly, with a snowstorm that gave us a thrill both indoors and out. Angie met us on arrival to help carry bags in and tell us about the house, and she kept in touch during our stay to make sure we had all we needed. We would have been happily snowbound, but we were grateful to Angie and Kevin for coming over to shovel and plow. This was our favorite place to stay EVER, and we'll be back! We're already planning to bring our Southern cousins up next winter.

The perfect Wisconsin winter getaway

We absolutely loved our time at Dollar Lake Retreat and will definitely be back. The home is so intentionally designed and thoughtfully stocked. We had everything we could possibly need: chargers, books, games, a fully stocked kitchen, an abundance of cozy blankets, Bluetooth speakers, and even stuffies for the kiddos that they argued over all weekend. I loved the two different fireplaces- one in the main living and one upstairs, which was the perfect place to curl up and slowly wake up in the mornings or wind down at night. The kids loved the loft area, and I loved that there were bedrooms right at the foot of the stairs so I could be close by. The lake views from the main living room and kitchen were unbeatable. The hosts were so hospitable, available if we needed in anything, and met us at check in and gave us the full tour. Everything about the experience felt elevated, which is hard to find in the northwoods. The house was extremely clean and comfortable. It is a great amount of space for multiple families to come together and make memories.
