Barceló Granada Congress

10/10 Excellent

"We stayed at the Barceló for my wife’s birthday weekend and had a fantastic stay. This is a large hotel located about a 20-minute walk from the centre of Granada. It has easy access and a large underground car park, costing €18 per night. Our room was very clean and spacious, with a comfortable bed, kettle, and fridge. The bathroom was perfectly adequate, although the quite powerful shower is positioned over the bath with only a small shower screen, making it easy to unintentionally soak the bathroom floor. Breakfast was excellent, with an impressive range of choices. We particularly liked being seated rather than having to search for a table ourselves. We visited the hotel’s rice restaurant one evening and the paella was delicious. We also had a lunchtime snack in the lobby bar, which was both good value and very tasty. The spa was pleasant, although the variety of spa showers felt a little unusual and, in truth, not especially appealing. We had a couples massage which was excellent and very enjoyable. My only criticism was that robes were not provided to walk through the communal area to the massage room. Our only real disappointment was the gym and swimming pool. Both appear much larger and more spacious in the cleverly taken photographs. While the terrace around the pool is very pleasant, with a small bar and fantastic views, the pool itself is tiny. We also found the gym rather claustrophobic, with a limited range of equipment and weights only going up to 10 kg"

"Both Kathy and the male front desk gentleman were nice, knowledgeable and did a great job. Hotel is a bit older but had what we needed. Bed linen a bit scratchy. And the breakfast carb heavy. This hotel is in a great location. Elevator button from our floor 3 did not like me but worked great for my hubby, not sure why?"

Barceló Carmen Granada Hotel

"Excellent location, but room quality and service fell short The room we received was spacious (got the standard one), but as this was a birthday trip, I was a little bummed out that the occasion wasn't acknowledged and that we were placed on the first floor. Furthermore, our room was tucked away at the very back of the hotel. It felt incredibly isolated from the rest of the property, which left us feeling a bit unwelcome and sidelined. The room itself lacked basic amenities I would fully expect at this level, such as hotel slippers, a sewing kit, and a shaving kit. Additionally, housekeeping failed to replenish the sugar or coffee we used, which fell below the standard we expected. From a functional perspective, the bathroom lacked a bidet, and the shower leaked significantly due to a combination of high water pressure and a poor seal on the shower door. Having said that, the location of the hotel was excellent, with most major attractions and amenities within easy walking distance or bus journeys."

"Excelente. Staff muy bueno. Desayuno muy bueno. Es complicado ubicar la dirección para llegar. Teniamos un auto alquilado pero si no conoces es imposible llegar, sumado a que no sabiamos que si no tenes autorizacion no podes circular por las calles interiores y te multan, para lo cual recibimos ayuda del staff para que no seamos multados."
