I really liked this cottage. The location is great, the backyard has access directly to the Cape Cod Rail Trail, and it is not a long bicycle ride to Nauset Light Beach or Marconi Beach. We brought our own bicycles, but the owner did have some in the garage for guests to use. The cottage is in one of the quieter areas of north Eastham, embedded in some of the archetypal forests of the outer cape. It is also not far from the MassAudubon Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Preserve, a Massachusetts Bay counterpart to the Atlantic Ocean Cape Cod National Seashore, a great place for hiking and birdwatching.
None of this would matter much if the cottage was not nice, but the cottage is great. Clean, nice floors, and beautiful wood paneling on the cabinets. The furniture and kitchen utilities were all modern and in good condition. The gas grill on the backyard deck was nice, it was fun to grill out there and then eat dinner at the picnic table looking out over the woods. At night the living room was nice for gathering in and streaming something to watch on the big tv over the mantel. The bedrooms were also nice, with comfortable mattresses and nice furnishing. I really liked some of the art on the walls.
We really enjoyed our time at this Eastham cottage, and we will definitely be coming back sometime.
