Stayed here for a few days during a stay on Orcas with some old friends from college. We absolutely loved the spot and can’t recommend it highly enough. Remote in the best possible way. Lovely accommodations, great view. We saw a seal and otters right in the backyard!

Secluded, peaceful, and stunning nature retreat
The location couldn't be better if you are looking for a quiet vacation and immerged in nature. A private beach and cove with emerald green water. The last .6 miles is a little challenging to drive due to the steep slope and uneven road but any SUV should do IMHO.

Great views
Great ocean views. House needs updated and needs to be cleaned better
If you’re looking for a place to get away from everything then this is the spot! Wake up and have your coffee overlooking an amazing view and hoping to see whales migrating through.
Home was perfect for our friends and family and gave us ample room to enjoy each other and solitude.
You have your choice of two private beaches to go and experience a true cold plunge!
I would definitely recommend this home to anyone that wants to get away from the hustle and bustle to reconnect with nature, family, and self.

Amazing Spot (once you get there), Very dated home
This is a tough one...the location of the home is right on the water which is absolutely stunning. Our kids loved visiting the beach on the property, watching the bald eagles flying along the water and seeing seals and otters swim by. That said, the house is extremely remote and it's a hike down a long and twisty dirt road to get there. Vacasa will send you a liability message stating that you need a 4WD vehicle to access the property with very good reason, but only after you've made your reservation. There is a section of road that is extremely steep and you will not be able to get out of the driveway if you do not have 4WD or are a very skilled off-road driver. As for the house, absolutely zero effort has been made to make the interior of the house inviting and comfortable. There is religious iconography all over the place, the owner's family photos are everywhere, and the basement (accessible only for laundry) is untidy and just plain scary. My young children thought the house was creepy and my wife did not feel safe staying there alone. Not a judgement by any means, but it made us appreciate the measures taken by most other rental properties to make it feel like you are not intruding on someone else's home. Very nice of the owners to share this incredible spot with others, but an extremely disappointing rental experience overall.

Rustic cabin with great views
We read the reviews before booking this cabin, so we were prepared for the rustic feel of the place. This is clearly a well-loved family home full of memories. It hasn't been updated much, but that's part of the charm. The house was stocked with all the necessities and was very clean. The grounds on which the house sits are beautiful. We had so much fun walking down to the clear water. Its a bit cold for swimming but my sons took a quick polar plunge. The paths down to the water could be a bit challenging for some, but the view from the back porch is equally as impressive. The house sits on a big plot of land off the beaten path, and is very secluded. The only downside was that the ferries were not running on time the day we arrived (no fault of ours or the owner). We were delayed hours at the dock in Anacortes, and it was dark when we arrived on the island. Getting to this rental in the dark is tricky!

We've loved this house for 20 years.
We love its setting at the edge of the forest on the waterfront of East Sound with views of six islands plus Mt. Baker if it's clear, its safe access beach, the bluff below the house for watching the sunrise, plus birds, seals, and occasionally otters. We love its overall peace, quiet and privacy. It is convenient to the ferry (15 minutes, tops) and the Orcas Village store, and about a half hour drive to Eastsound. We love that it is a family home, with family photos and mementos. We feel like honorary family members while we're there. We love how comfortable and un-fussy it is, a real country home. We're always thrilled to arrive and sad to leave.
Views magnificent, had to make our own window washing cleaner and wash windows to be able to see them. Bed and pillows disappointing.

Beautiful Sunrise
This home has the most amazing view of the sunrise! It is located in a very quiet, secluded area. If you are looking for a place to just chill and enjoy the otters, raccoons, deer, harbor seals, and scenery then I recommend staying here.

We love this wonderful house
Our family has rented this home most years since 2003, 19 years ago. We love the sense of peace we have there, whether we are sitting on the bluff watching the sunrise, walking the roads, or reading on the two decks or inside. The home is a 1960s Lindal cedar home, with big windows and the feel of a large and comfortable cabin. We never tire of watching the light change on the water and islands throughout the day and in all kinds of weather. We look forward every year to our return.
Felt like we were staying in a home of one of our own relatives and everything made us feel as if we were part of their family. Wonderful seclusion with wildlife and sea life popping in for a visit every day. Beautiful sunrises and sipping coffee on the deck watching the waves made the days go by too fast and we would stay longer if we could. Thanks to the owner for providing this wonderful property!
This was a great property to rent for the week. Getting to the house did involve driving down a fairly rough dirt road- but my rental sedan was more than capable of navigating the road.
(Google Maps really wants to send you down Dolphin Bay Road- unless a ferry is arriving Orcas Rd is a much better option.)
House looked like the pictures. You may want to bring some extra bit of firewood - several places in Eastsound sold it.

Magical
It was a wonderful week of quiet, pristine beauty! Our annual Gal-Pal trip from our Berkeley days circa 1970’s! We love nature… quiet… hiking… exploring… in comfort! This hit every mark! Yes the cabin is dated… some interesting access to the beach coves… but that just added to the feeling of remoteness. Of all our different adventures this one was pretty close to the top! Don’t change a thing!! Thank you for sharing your little slice of heaven!
It was a bit of an adventure getting to our VRBO due to some issues with blocked roads but Luke, our Vacasa rep, was super responsive and helpful and sent us our child’s forgotten electronic device to boot.
The house took some getting used to because it is what I think of as old school VRBO, where it feels like you’ve walked into someone else’s home. We were more worried about the safety of the artifacts than anything. But as we stayed longer we got used to it. There are *lots* of Christian references if that’s something that would bother you.
On the plus side, the view is one of the best we’ve ever had on Orcas and even though the house is very remote and far away from Moran, it wasn’t too long a trek to get to our favorite hikes. The couches and recliners were very comfy and we all had someplace to stretch out and relax. There had been a slide so getting to the beach proper was more exciting than it once was but it was totally doable and still far easier than a house we used to stay at on Orcas—our kids managed well with a bit of support.
We might prefer to stay a bit closer to Moran another year but by the end of the trip we all agreed that we could see ourselves returning to this house.

Great quiet cabin with wonderful view.
The cabin is very cozy, with a really nice view of Eastsound. It is at the end of a very quiet private gravel road, so plenty of privacy. We loved all the old pictures and such, and appreciated the homey decor and all the books! We met the owner's son and he was very helpful, and the local Vacasa team were absolutely amazing! We look forward to visiting the island again soon!

Great location
This home has good views of the waterfront and great access to the ocean and isn't that the primary reason to come to Orcas. A few things could really use updating the couch is definitely worn, the lighting is poor, the pillows were a little flat and the bed spreads were well worn. None of these a6big issues because you come for the outdoors and the location. The internet was very good, a great variety of TV stations. However, cell reception is spotty. If you want to turn the rental into a great rental the house really needs a lot of depersonalization. All of the hallway pictures need to go. The pictures in the first bedroom should go also, and maybe the picture of Christ in the living room.... yes that was hard to say and most of the books in the master bedroom
... Like I said it is the location... there is a deer that lives just below the house, 3 otters in the small bay to the north, and a seal just to the South. Awesome. Overall we enjoyed our time there and would consider it next time we come to orcas.

Private home and beach
Very private, lovely house on the water. Stayed here with grandparents and kids. House was enjoyed by all. Great views from the deck. Saw a lot of wildlife: bald eagles, deer, seals, an otter family, and a pod of orca whales!
Tips:
*Ignore GPS navigation to turn right on "Pine Ridge Dr", stay on "White Beach Rd" and take right on "Evergreen Way".
*Last half mile is on a narrow gravel/dirt road.
*The trail to the house's bigger private beach is near the driveway. If you face the road, the trail is to the right of the electric meter. Trail is marked "Use at your own risk". We had no problems with the trail, it is about 150ft long with slight decline.
*A raccoon comes by at night. Make sure your garbage is secured away from the house(by the electric meter) and don't leave any food out at night.

Hidden Gem
Beautiful cabin with it’s own private beach, grill and balconies to take in the gorgeous views. Perfect landing spot at the end of a day of hiking and exploring Orcas Island. The cabin has everything you need to cook your own meals (if that’s your thing). Property managers are responsive if something comes up. Will definitely consider staying again for our next Orcas Island vacation.
Sometimes the pictures are better than reality. This was even better than the pictures! Truly beautiful view from every window. The deck was amazing. An orca pod swam by. There were seals and otters at the beach every single day. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Thank you so much!

Great secluded location with a fantastic view
Really quiet and beautiful location with access to a beach. Nice to have the firewood and wood burning stove too and other amenities like cooking and eating utensils.
