We had another great stay this year. We love the property and relaxed atmosphere on the water. Wonderful hosts, very friendly and accommodating. Thank you for a great stay!
We loved our country get away. Upon our arrival Norm gave us a tour and suggestions of area restaurants. We awoke each morning enjoying breakfast while looking over the river. Ended the day with campfires, star gazing and the peace and tranquillity of the country. On our last night we also met Sue and she to joined us in conversations of the history of their family and Vrbo. Thanks for hosting and sharing with us-will definitely return.Lynn, Donny and Amy
Me and my 2 brothers stayed 2 nights on September 5th and 6th. 2025 Weather was cool and windy. But still had a vert nice time Fishing was poor but still had fun.
My son and I have stayed here 4 years in a row and always look forward to coming back. They treat us so well and the cabin is always clean and they even updated the TV this year. A very nice and quiet getaway
We have been staying here every year for a while now. Great location! Water access and bike trail access is awesome to have. The owners are so very friendly. Love staying here!
The views were beautiful, the colors were starting to turn, so we enjoyed the dock in the morning with coffee, and the stars at night with hot tea. Will definitely be back!
Norm and Sue are wonderfull people. So glad we got to talk a little before I went off hiking. Wife and son did some fishing and relaxed in cabin while I hiked and I did same after hiking both days. All in all was a very pleasent stay. I would recommend to all.
It was a cute place on the Chippewa River. We enjoyed grilling out and our view from the dining room table was spectacular. We also enjoyed the ducks coming right up to us . Having fires in the fire pit in the evening and watching the sunset and the stars . A lot of neat places to explore in the area and great hiking trails. Norm and Sue were great hosts .
As the title states staying at the cottage was exactly what our family needed. The owners were very nice and communicative the place was clean and quiet. We had grandparents, my wife and I and our child but there's enough room here for all of us to enjoy family time but also each have our own space when needed. In terms of fishing we mainly caught channel cats and sturgeon off the dock fishing off the bottom but we're lucky enough that each one was bigger than the last. It was far enough away from towns that our child was able to see the stars for the first time and overall lovely enough that we created many a core memory for her. Definitely hope to choose this cottage again in the future!
Space was clean and of good size. The single window a/c unit had difficulty keeping up with the heat. Property owner welcomed me as I arrived, which was very helpful since the building is not well marked. The directions provided were very helpful. Considering an autumn stay.
I can’t say enough! Norm and sue are incredible host super accommodating! Gave great advice for fishing ! Allowed late check out gave my ever so curious son a ride on four wheeler ! Even told us some history of the cabin and there home ! Nothing feels better than some history with an amazing cabin beautiful view both in night and morning ! Enjoyed the hunting stories Norm also shared with us . We don’t get away often when we do this is always our number one ! They make you feel like family not just guest .
Norm and Sue were very good about helping us find their rental. The listing had the wrong address, but Sue had called to find out our arrival time and she gave correct address. However, GPS wasn't able to find it. We had wonderful view of river and cottage was spacious. But, the place needs a good cleaning. Especially bathroom/shower and cobwebs/dust throughout. If clean, we'd make it a repeat location.
We found Sue and Norm’s place after abandoning plans to tent camp - rainy week predicted. Beautiful setting along the Chippewa River. Comfortable beds. Dining and relaxing seating area with large window view of the River. Fire ring out side between the cabin and water - we were able to use it two of the nights. From here, we drove to nearby sites to hike portions of the beautiful Ice Age Trail. Great bird watching both at the cabin and on the Trail. Nearby Cornell has 2 good ice cream shops plus we enjoyed pizza and beer at the Moonridge Brewing Company in Cornell.
Norm and Sue were great hosts and responsive to inquiries. Sue even called during one storm to make sure we were ok.

Lovely view
Lovely view of river at this property. Be sure to bring linens. Hosts were gracious and brought sheets. Pillows etc. Over.
Thank goodness because we didn't bring any due to description saying linens were included under property amenities. Host did send email which went under our radar mentioning no linens etc. No railing by the step to get in. And it's a sketchy step. I'm only mentioning this cause our other couple was older and the old wooden step was higher than average. The view is incredible. My complaint would be the smell of the whole cabin. A candle did help. It could use a major cleaning and needs a little help but ... It's not like we spent a huge amount of money to stay there.
I hope to buy this place one day if only we could afford this as a permanent home this place makes me and my family want to relocate so bad it’s always the most peaceful place always bring me and my family closer and more connected from the outside world .
