「We had a great time spending a long holiday weekend here. It was relaxing and peaceful and perfect for what we needed. However I would say the place needs some work and the owner should put some money back into it. The directv barely works and the internet is non existent but we made due without it. 「This cabin reminded me of my grandpas cabin in the Big Horn Mountains. It's rustic and has that old cabin scent. We enjoyed watching the sunset from the back deck. I recommend bringing your own blankets if you get chilly in the evening. The kitchen has everything you need for preparing meals and the outdoor fire place is great for making smore's.」

We drove around Shenandoah’s Sky Line Dr and came back to amazing weather and spent a few hours in the hot tub. 「Our stay at Solitude was absolutely wonderful! The property was exactly as described, clean and beautiful. My wife and I loved our weekend away. We enjoyed sitting in the hot tub, relaxing by the campfire and watching nature go by. It was exactly what we needed for our anniversary, a place away from the business of our everyday lives. 「Nice cabin with good layout and excellent location, close to everything in Luray. The mattresses and pillows were comfy, and the chairs in the basement were a nice touch. My one complaint is the kitchen: there weren’t many items to cook or bake with, and the ones there were older, scratched and rusty. The river was also fairly hard to access—we didn’t end up using the kayaks we brought because we didn’t think we could get them down and back. But overall, we would definitely stay here again!」

「The property itself is PERFECT for a couples getaway or a solo vacation. I truly enjoyed the time to relax & reset. My only issue when booking with VRBO you don't realize some of the "normal" things you find in rental properties were not there until you get there. I've booked with rental properties and there has always been seasonings left in the kitchen (at least salt & pepper). 「Property was great when we were there, the only thing that was a bummer was I think the pool pump was back flushing in the middle of the night. I think it was on a timer At 2:30 am and ran for a long time and we had to shut the windows because of the noise of running water.
