The staff were fantastic! The building has no elevator and the guy working - so sorry I forget your name - grabbed one of our suitcases and carried it all the way up to the top floor where our room was! The breakfast was less than expected, but the coffee was decent and free. Location was perfect! Far enough away from the hustle n bustle but close enough to walk where we wanted to go. Overall it is a wonderful hotel and the staff really made the stay.

After all those negative feedbacks I was worried but I have to say the hotel surprised me otherwise. My kids felt extremely comfortable and actually enjoyed it much better then their previous more modern hotel stay in London. They absolutely loved the kind and very helpful receptionist , they felt immediately at home and really enjoyed the few days they spend in this old world charming place. Additionally it is in a perfect location every sight in close walking distance. Yes it is old but that adds to it's charm and it shows but it is clean and very comfortable. Thank you for being part of making my daughter and her friends trip a success!

We turned up at mid day just to leave our bags there. We were told our room was ready so up we went to a very large bedroom! Very rarely do we get such an early check in so well done to the staff and reception. The hotel is situated in a quiet road about 15 a minute walk into the city. So ideal really. I would recommend this hotel for all the above reasons.

Se gosta de subir 3 andares carregando malas de 23 kg vai pra lá. Não tem frigobar, estacionameno, e é velho caindo aos pedaços. Foi o hotel mais caro e chinelão que ficamos em todo Reino Unido, e o pior deles. Apesar da pouca simpatia dos outlanders, nos trataram bem.

It’s an old building so I understand it can be difficult to maintain, but it needs a good cleaning, the furniture is shabby and dirty and needs to be replaced. There is no elevator so if walking stairs is an issue at all don’t book here. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Edinburgh Thistle Hotel er en fin hotel til prisen - her får du old Edinburgh feel med et hotel, der er vind og skævt og charmerende nedslidt. Du får knirkende gulve, gulvtæpper og yderst basic morgenmad primært bestående af toast. Sengene var gode - dog blev min ikke redt og rengøringen var sparsom, men for 3 overnætninger gik det. Hotellets fordel er dens centrale placering, gamle feel og overkommelige priser. Hotellet er på ingen måde kørestolsvenligt eller tilgængeligt for gangbesværede.
