We were delighted with our stay. The place is charming. We like to find places off the beaten path. It’s not your traditional hotel, it’s more of a bed and breakfast. The host has a great breakfast spread!

This is a great little place outside of the hustle and bustle of Edinburgh and was perfect for a short overnight stay. The host was very sweet and the accommodations were modest. The breakfast was great and the coffee was even better. There is also a great restaurant close by for dinner called The Spylaw. Highly recommend it.

The host was excellent and knowledgeable about Edinburgh. He put on a fine breakfast. Bus stop just around the corner. Lovely character home. The bed was very comfortable. Unfortunately someone was downstairs talking and laughing loudly til the wee hours. Kept us awake. But otherwise a good stay.

Clean, comfortable room in a historic home. David is a kind host, made a great breakfast. Quiet neighborhood outside of Edinburgh, only a few restaurants nearby, but they are good.

This is the 2nd time we have stayed here and had a lovely stay again. David is very welcoming and cooks a lovely breakfast. Nothing is to much if you need advice about the area etc.... would recommend for sure.

David, the property owner, and the dining room were the two most interesting parts of our stay. David was very helpful with information and obliging. He loves his city. We wish we could give a better rating because he was so nice but several things made our stay somewhat uncomfortable. The property must have been lovely in its time. We do not consider our bedroom was adveryised as superior and definitely was not superior. It was just ok. The towels were stiff and rough and the quilt very lumpy. The bathroom has a new shower recess which an obvious upgrade. The toilet roll holder is unique and amusing. I have attached an image. Artwork really interesting and tasteful, which we viewed on the stairwell and dining room. We enjoyed Edinburough very much and it was an easy bus ride into the city. Bus stop close by as well as eateries.

David our host was very warm, welcoming and hospitable. A lovely property in a very quiet and peaceful neighborhood with lots of walks around. Easily accessible by bus from the city. A cooked / continental breakfast is an added bonus. The local village has an amazing pub (Spylaw) with very good food and friendly service and a good family run Italian restaurant ( Dante’s). My husband and I stayed in a very spacious en-suite double bedroom which was very comfortable. We would highly recommend this property.

The staff was delightful and the breakfast was great. The grounds were lovely and the house was quaint. There wasnt hot water to shower twice and the house was kept very cold. The room was clean but hallways and stairs were quite dirty and needing maintenance.

Jamás me había quedado en un lugar tan asqueroso, no se hospeden aquí! Sería un gran error! Me la pasé muy mal en Edinburgo por culpa de éste hospedaje, está lejísimos, a 1 hora del centro! La ventana no cerraba y hacia mucho frío, no pude descansar, la calefacción no servía, la alfombra sucia, había un calzón sucio en el piso!!! El desayuno solo puede ser a las 9 am! A esa hora llegarías a la ciudad a las 11! Imposible!! El colchón horrible, el Sr hace ruidos a las 6 am y el último bus para volver es a las 10 pm, jamás había estado tan arrepentida y carísimo! No volvería jamás!

Nous avons dû partir tôt le matin pour prendre l'avion de retour, le propriétaire, sympathique au demeurant, a juste dit à notre arrivée "donc pas de petit déjeuner". Au tarif de la location, nous aurions apprécié qu'il nous propose de nous laisser de quoi déjeuner, même si cela n'avait pas été le petit déjeuner prévu à ses horaires.

david è una persona d'altri tempi, la passione con cui prepara la colazione (nel piatto era tutto creato come se fosse un volto di una persona che sorride) o racconta le chicche della "sua" Edinburgo valgono il viaggio. Il resto lo fa il bus 44 che vi porta e vi riporta in centro con estema comodità. Ideale per le coppie e per chi non ama le cose "fancy" ma vivere le esperienze a "casa" di un local. Zona sicurissima e fermata del bus molto vicina al B&B.

David was an excellent host. The house was very large and quiet. There was a kettle and tea and biscuits set up in our room each day. David cooked us a full breakfast and there was also fruit and cereal available. The bus stop is only a block or two away and David gave us instructions on which bus to take. This was a great place to stay!
