Excellent Staff

Excellent staff and allowed 2 hrs late checkout. Receptionists spoke English. Decent breakfast. Near bus station, easy under 10 minutes walk. Property in Good condition. My second stay. Only issue like many others in Argentina is bathroom plumbing, could be improved. We will stay here again.

One bedroom apartment which was large. Heater, good shower with plenty of hot water, double bed comfortable. Stove. Microwave. Easy walking distance to town 10 mins. Supermarkets nearby.

Both google map and Apple map point the location to the wrong address. The facility looked nice from outside. The front desk staff was very helpful. However the inside needs significant updating. The windows are single pane and we can hear all the road noise. The showers and the hot water faucets are not working properly, etc.

Friendly staff, close to the bus station, with good breakfast options. The room was spacious and comfortable. Close to a supermarket, and a few minutes away from a laundrette. The WIFI was terrible, would cut out every few minutes, and when it did work it was extremely slow and limited. The hot water in the shower would only last a couple of minutes before going cold. Overall though, a decent option for the price.

We were on the back side of the building which faced a venue with loud live music being played until 2am a hundred meters or so away. Although that is not the properties fault be aware if you are staying on the weekend. Better soundproofing is needed for these rooms on the backside. We had a 6am wakeup call and earplugs and white noise could not solve the noise issue.

The good and the bad

I tried for two days to contact them by phone and email. Twice they hung up after picking up the phone and others it just rung out. Email was never responded to. Then they wrote to me saying you are staying soon do you need a shuttle from the airport . I said yes have them full details. Arrived and no one. Tried ringing they hung up. Git delayed one hour whilst I arranged a bus. Finally got there room was good, clean, breakfast was generous. Tv didn't work I forgot to tell them.

Great place to stay in El Calafate

Hotel Amigo del Mundo was just what I needed in El Calafate. Close to downtown and to the bus - walking distance from everything. Economical, clean, comfortable, quiet. The breakfast was nice and complete. I would definitely stay there again.

Simple yet effective for short trip

Simple yet effective place to sleep for a night or two. The bed is decent the pillows are sleepable but could be better. Surprised how nice the free breakfast was. Overall a good deal for the price

Very pleased with Amigo del Mundo

Very convenient place to stay while prepping for a trek in the mountains. There is a supermarket right around the corner the bus station is just a few blocks away. The staff were friendly and the room was comfortable and clean. The breakfast was especially nice and prepared us well for our trek!
