"We were a couple traveling from the United States, both in our later 50s. We ended up not staying in the room. After having to bring our four suitcases up two flights of stairs, our room was incredibly hot. When we opened the windows to try to cool things off, we were met by several flies and other insects. The lodging is on a very busy street in Elgin. The room itself was very nice and clean, so for a solo traveler, or perhaps anyone younger than us, this may have been the perfect stay. It had a shared kitchen and laundry, which was what we were looking forward to. Unfortunately, itjust wasn’t suitable for our age and the needs that we have."

"Beautiful exterior and garden area, close to town. Unfortunately the 2nd floor room was hot enough to melt my recently purchased chocolate that was on the desk. Was about 80 to 85 degrees and there is no air-conditioning. The staff brought up a fan after multiple requests which we propped in the window that could only open about 6 inches. Contributing factors may have been the full hotel (and heat rising on a 60 degree day) or the exposed HOT to the touch pipe at the baseboards that went into the radiator (which was turned off). Rough night sleep where we debated sleeping in the lobby or going elsewhere about 10:30 PM."
