"Been to this hotel before, depending and enjoyed it, this time not as much, it's looking more tired. Old for me is fine as it gives character but there were some things that don't even meet a basic standard. Food and staff in the restaurant area were pleasant, not so much the reception staff who l feel we're unhelpful, inefficient doing their job. I had to move my room, l complained about not getting an answer on the phone to make a direct booking which is what they encourage, l e mailed reception more than once yet had no reply. Showed the guy on reception the e mails l sent all he said was l don't know what happened there. Basically l had to pay more for less due to poor customer service. If you can get a good deal l recommend going but for what l had to pay plus l had to change my room due to a smelly issue, l feel it's not good value anymore."

"We absolutely loved our stay at the Mansion House. It is within walking distance of all the sites in Elgin plus has very accessible parking. The surrounding walks and neighboring river made me feel like a character in a Jane Austin novel. Iona, Billy and all the staff made us feel like family. We even learned how to play snooker. Breakfast couldn’t have been better or more convenient. Will definitely try to return every time we go to Scotland!!!"

"Breakfast was fantastic, lots of choice, freshly made to order. We didn't use the restaurant, therefore couldn't comment but it looked busy each evening.Rooms were spacious and very clean"

"We had a very pleasant stay at the Cluny Hill hotel. It is simple and good for the price paid per night. We got a double bed private room with a shared toilet/bathroom to another separate room. Each bedroom also has their own sink which is nice. Towels, clean bed linen and a comfortable memory foam mattress. The Hotel was a public building before and you can tell by the usual British carpets, emergency fire doors etc. Just make sure to click the link for check-in, so that the receptionist knows what time you will arrive. Overall we’d highly recommend!"
